Here is a side by side comparison on the Google Pixel 3 XL vs the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. I show you camera video footage using both side front and back in daylight and lowlight.
Also compare built in mic and photos are at the end of the video.
What is your overall preference? The Mate has better a mic and I like how you u can ze-zoom from 1x to .6x for a wider angle view. However the Pixel provided more natural colors overall and thats what I like. But I know a lot people rather have whatever makes them look better as well. I think 55% of the people will choose Google and 45% will choose the Huawei. It really boils down to preference. I prefer more natural and the Pixel gave that a little more. What do you think?
Also note that both phones offer night sight / night mode for photos but i didn’t include those in the photos part (I will add this to my next video of all photos). The thing you have to realize is that taking those kinds of photos require no movement for 5-6 seconds.

Definitely have to go with the pixel on this one….the images are by far more sharper and natural looking than the Mate in both daylight and low light settings. There is on setback however…the audio on the pixel is sadly lacking in quality and sounds a little tinny…maybe that can be overcome in post editing by adding a separate audio track. 👍🇬🇧

Great comparison! I too feel that the Pixel 3 did a better job in terms of audio and video quality. The only place where I felt the Huawei Mate 20 Pro was slightly better was the video via front facing camera. The audio quality was of course better in the Huawei phone. Among the pictures, the difference in color science among the two phones was more obvious, and I think it depends on preference. I preferred the Pixel 3 phone. Can you also add night time pics from the two phones? It will be interesting to see the competition between the night mode of the Mate 20 Pro and the night mode of Pixel 3.
