If you have problems with the red light blinking and it will not do anything else, try pulling the memory card out a little bit. It seems that a small factory defect allows you to insert the card TOO FAR. That makes the card make NO CONTACT inside. simply fixed by not inserting the card too far. When the GREEN light is lit, that is standby mode. You can do 1 of 3 things from standby mode. 1… do a quick press to snap a JPG picture. 2…. hold button 2 seconds to start recording VIDEO with AUDIO. (green light flashes 3 times if VIDEO RECORDING starts… ONE flash if you just took a JPG snapshot). 3rd thing you can do is press 2 quick presses and it starts recording an AUDIO ONLY file. To end the AUDIO or the VIDEO recording, hold down the button 5 seconds and file is saved/ unit shuts off.
