Composition is a huge part of photography. People who say they can’t take a photo to save their lives are usually saying “I don’t know how to compose a good shot”.
So what is composition? Put simply, it’s how you select and arrange the various elements within the image. Of course it doesn’t just apply to photography – also painting, drawing, film, any kind of visual medium.
In this clip we’ll look at 10 compositional ideas or concepts. During a shoot I generally try to use as many of these as possible to ensure a really dynamic range of shots.
