is it your light that gives the camera a purple glow, or is the rp in different colors ? 😮 still trying to figure out what to buy next week. 5dmk4 or rp. upgrading from 80D 🙂

There's no in-body stabilization I thought on the video at 13:30 you said it had in-body stabilization that's not correct you should take that out as soon as possible that's misleading

Lovely video, everything I was looking for and more, you have a new sub from me, thank you!

WEX do fantastic video reviews, I love the delivery and accessibility of the presenter, she is great, But it’s factually incorrect here and I think it’s important, It doesn’t have 5 Axis in body stabilisation , many Canon lenses have it and there electronic compensation for video. but it’s not the same as a mechanical system. I think you should redo the summary section at the end.

  5. rhapsodist says

It has the sensor of the 6Dii, the question is does it also have the same DR?

    Nice paid infomercial

I would love to buy this as a lightweight carry out second body alongside my 6d2. I'm confident the Image quality will be great and I like the digic 8 feature set. However my subjects move at 200 feet per second and it looks like it has the familiar mirrorless failpoint where continuous shooting in servo focus once again can't cope and at worst will fail to find first frame focus before the shot is lost. Even my 15 year old 1Dmk2 bought for next to nowt can cope with servo AF at 9.5fps outshooting all my modern bodies. Canon also promised agressive pricing which they have delivered on in the states but as usual not in the UK. This is a dumbed down 6D2 for only £96 less. Given the reduced feature set it's a £999 – £1099 camera.

Canon will never put IBIS on a mid range camera. I highly doubt IBIS capability on a mid range system and if that EOS RP has IBIS? it probably is the only one or you have a broken sensor mount so the sensor is moving around and about? At that price point, the XT-30 offers move value and features.

  9. IAmJadoreTV says

Would you recommend this over the 6d ii??

  10. Andrea Rotelli says

Video features is more and more important, especially for family life and holidays. And this is a bit of crap compared to competition. You have been too enthusiastic about the camera. It's still 400-500 more than A6400 and XT-30 and unless you adapt ef lenses you'll be spending a lot for lenses. All in the name of full frame? Not convinced.

  11. Ed Du says

To add to the title: But it lacks 24fps in 1080p so it is useless for serious videographers

  12. Dean Clifford says

I'll stick with my 5D Mk iv thank you

  13. interesting says

What 5-axis in-body IS are you talking about ??? You spliced in audio from another camera review??

  14. Vince Revolution says

*There’s no IBIS. It’s electronic stabilization. Basically the processor does an in-body digital stabilization in real time.*💯👊🏽❤️

Did you guys see that in timeline 6:556:59, it drift off for a bit also why use the black backdrop? don't you think it would have been a better test if there was no black backdrop and test it with the white instead? I think The black backdrop is cheating and now fully showing that dual pixel AF on this sensor.

  16. ThePandaPhotographer says

    those waves look amazing

  17. Hofner Bass says

How much did Canon pay you for this?

  18. norbert alleaume says

what about gps – can u synchronise the gps through an app ?

  19. norbert alleaume says

    nice review 🙂

    Great job!

  21. Astronaut Ninja says

RP is marketed more towards the British. EOS…Regular Pronunciation.

    …Americans won't get that.

  22. Michael Mystro Pierce says

    Canon…WHY?

  23. Nick _Medina says

Great Video! Would you steer someone towards this or a 6D Mark ll?

  24. Joe Marano says

Buy a G9. Learn to use it. Destroy Canon shooters for the next 5 years…maybe 10

  25. C Miller says

There is DPAF in 1080p. Contrast only in 4k

  26. LuposVoice says

I love to see you dancing for AF! 😉 Thanks for this helpful video! Like it!

  27. P K says

But it doesn’t really have IBIS….good comparison with APSC system though since the sensor used (6D2) is competitive with that category not proper full frame (dynamic range, high iso performance).

  28. Ram Sarup says

You mention the DPAF in video is not as good as the EOS R, that is because there is no DPAF in video mode on the RP, only contrast based focus.

  29. t Lim says

This is still a big camera/lens combo. I'll stay with cropped sensors as this is waaay too big for travel and street photography.

  30. Frank Feng says

I think A6400 will RiP the RP apart.

  31. Василий К says

Hi. What will be the shutter release resource?

  32. Howie Mudge Photography says

Typical Canon, give as little as possible to charge as much as possible. Much better options out there at the price point.

  33. legendp2011 says

I would be curius how the focusing compares in video and photos to the sony a6400 (and overall image quality)

  34. oakie says

you keep saying it has 5-axis in-body IS but it doesnt. neither the EOS R or RP has IBIS.

  35. Angel Hurtado says

This video was shot on which camera?

  36. Maks says

    Seems promising.
