When Blush Bridal Boutique and I decided we wanted to do a Wedding video/photo shoot together we brainstormed great wedding venue locations. We wanted to showcase her gowns, my photography and a other vendors. As an Oregon based wedding photographer, I’ve come to find that King Estate is one of the best wedding venues this state has to offer. King Estate is located just southwest of Eugene, tucked away, on top of the rolling hills of the Willamette Valley. With it’s multiple ceremony and reception set up locations, stunning views, regal backdrops of the vineyards and organic certification, it’s an ideal choice for your big day. As well as being a great, local venue, it has also become a very popular wedding destination for out of town couples. Teresa, the owner of Blush Bridal, was married in King Estate’s Barrel Room. Between all of our good experiences there, we knew this would be a great place to shoot our video. Blush Bridal had a list of their seasoned models lined up. We secured Salon Twisted to do the model’s hair and make up and H Boutique to provide fine jewelry for the shoot. With the vendors in place and on board, we were excited our vision was coming to life.
We started shooting in the Bridal Suit in the Vineyard Pavilion around 2p.m. on the afternoon of the shoot. As the models were arriving and getting into hair and make up, the crew and I were getting set up. The two wings of the Pavilion are glassed in, allowing for great views on either side. We left a camera continuously rolling in the corner of the back room, to capture the whole process while Bob and Collin were taking shots of the girls getting ready. I set up equipment in the front wing and got ready for the first models. As the models were coming out of hair and make up we took group shots and singles on the courtyard patio area, which faces the winery and is surrounded by vineyards. The Pavilion has different ceremony location options and can hold up to 400 guests! When we were done shooting at the Pavilion, we packed the models in cars and headed to the South Tower of the winery. Collin and I took half of the models to the south wing and Bob took the other half into the fermentation wing to get some close up shots of gowns and jewelry. We love how King Estate’s European architecture resembles a French Chateau. With different themes, you could produce romantic elegance with the grand architecture and the vine growth up the walls, or urban chick with the red brick layouts and barrels. We wanted all of it. Next, we headed down past the fermentation wings into one of the barrel rooms. The lighting in the barrel rooms is incredible!
