In this quick tutorial I want to show you some of the photos I got back from Tuscany, some of the good ones, some of the bad ones, how I tried to improve my composition until I had somewhat of a balance. Off course having the right light is the key. Voila!
Here is where I was in Tuscany, from my research one of the best locations to get some great photography all around:
Heading to Tuscany in 10 days. Thanks for the inspiration.
I have learned a lot from you. I purchased some of your courses, they helped me quite a bit to improve my editing techniques.
cool video
Hello Serge, I really learn a lot from your videos on youtube. It is very helpfull for me that you show all the background of your location then all the pictures you have made. It gives us a lots of ideas how to pick the location and composition. Thank you.
thank you so much 😉
I really enjoy these types of videos. It's nice to see that you have plenty of shots that didn't work out while looking for just the right composition. It shows me that even the pros use trial and error. It's also interesting to hear what goes through your head when composing a shot. Thanks.
By talking through your thought process and your workflow, I'm really getting a sense of how to put this all together. Thank you, Serge. You are really an excellent instructor!
I really enjoyed the video. I have a question. In photoshop i would like to know how to stack photos of something that moves on the spot but not across the photo. I can say stack a number of photos of a bike moving across the scene so you can see the bike from each photo. but what if the bike rider is doing a trick where the bike is spinning on the same bit of ground on the back wheel and you want to show all the positions of the bike in the spin. Hope that make sense.
Can you make a tutorial on how to make moody pictures? Like the ones on moodygrams on instagram
There is only one way to improve composition.
Work the scene until exhaustion and practice, practice, practice. And still you might miss the one angle that pops the most, frustrating but what can you do,…
I wonder how some of these would have come out in luminar or colour efx pro ? The pictures had fantastic potential but I didn't feel LR alone did them justice
The lonely tree pano was my favorite out of all of them.
Love you man. I learnt so much from you. Lots love from Pakistan.
Very nice,I like it
use of triangles in composition work well
Do you really think Tuscany is a good location for a multi-day (week or so) photo-trip? I am just in the process of planing my next trip and originally I considered Tuscany and the South of France. But after looking at pics of Tuscany on 500px it seems to me their is to little variety. I mean how many distinctly different ways of shooting rolling hills are their. Esp. If their are very little interesting foreground elements.
Now I agree that it is worth to stop their for a day or 2, but not sure its worth much more time. Or is it??
Very nice. I was there some years back, and this make me home sick for Tuscany.
24-240 is nothing really, look at your process, you have to boost contrast and vibrance alooooot
great video! could you please make a tutorial showing how did you take off that electric pole with PS?
Merci Monsieur
I bought the creative cloud 2 days ago, from your page. thanks for all the videos , i learning a lot !
Another great tutorial! Thank you Serge!
Same high standards and educating standards. I think Serge has shown me everything then I learn more, brilliant.
Nice and simple (easy understandable) video. I really like to watch your videos and see you pictures.
PS
I also like that you use your smartphone from time to time.
(I'm in my beginnings of mobile photography practicing)
Hi Serge, thanks for video. Would you change the 24-70 F4 for the 24-270 as well? Ty!
For those who want to take photos like Serge, you need to go to Pienza in Tuscany. Not only does it have great scenery, but also great food!
Must be nice to just pass by Tuscany.
I truly appreciate being able to see ALL of your photos in the filmstrip, because it confirms that even an outstanding photographer (you) takes a lot of pictures that just don't work out. It also shows me how you moved around and tried different things. I also like seeing you play around with not so good photos trying to make them the best possible, then deciding that they are not that good. All of this is similar to the experiences I have, but you rarely see this type of activity in online tutorials.
The question and answer are contained in the same sentence…Q -How to improve your photo composition?… A -Tuscany
Your Shot is Amazing !! also the way how you give life to it.. Nice Editing Skills .. Thumbs Up !! 👍
Not really your best shots, to be honest. You can do much better. I know for sure. Thanks anyway, it confirmed that I have to go to Tuscany soon.
Very nice video Serge 🙂 You have helped me alot with your amazing tutorials and experience! Have a nice day.
