Why are here so many discussions about how cruel the military is and why those people are happy while others are now lost a family member.
Do you ever think before speaking? Who said he killed someone? Who said he actually fired a gun while oversea? He could be a truck driver,water supply,Ammunition officer or a combat medic. There are so many jobs to be done that do not require to kill someone. As a combat medic he would do the quiet opposite. Start thinking before puking out your bullshit.

Even if he shot someone so what? It is his job. People are not going to the Army,Navy ect. to kill people.It´s not even their main job to kill people, but it gets criticized so severely cause this job implies the direct possiblity to kill people. 

Let´s turn it around and look at people who get world wide credit and positive attention for the job they are doing.
Like Scientist.
Especially scientists in the field of disease control. Those scientists get credit for creating vaccines against diseases by analizing the disease itself. Pretty common knowledge,but did you know that they enhancing dozens of diseases to the max to see what they are capable of and to research the limit of the disease? For example the common flu. Everybody on this planet will get one in their lifetime. In the past this virus killed vast amounts of people like the spanish flu. Millions over millions died cause of it and this huge pandemic only stopped cause everyone who had the disease died or developed an immunity. Now scientists enhanced a flu virus to the point it can get out of the control of our immunesystem by neutralising antibodies which makes our body completly defenseless to a deadly disease. Remember they enhanced a disease which is still 100% deadly for people with a weak or nonexistent immunesystem and those scientists flipped exactly that switch and made a disease which could kill the entire human race without any problems just because they wanted to research what we could do against a disease if it reaches this point of evolution. The swine flu reemerged in 1977 because of a lab accident. People make mistakes, but a mistake with this new flu would mean the end of the world cause they just made the disease and still did not found any cure for it. So if this little disease would get out of the facility then we are doomed.

People have to get that only cause the job implies killing people, it does not mean people who are doing it are evil or bad of any kind. For a job that gets hated on so much for Death and violence there is very little of it based on how many soldiers are in battle 24/7 and the amount of people getting shot. You think it´s so high cause you see it on tv or in the newspaper all the time cause "just a normal patrol day" isn´t news worthy. only a few get ever get the oportunity to kill (based on the vast amount of jobs available in the military) and only a part of them who could kill actual get the chance to or just never shot someone even though they were in a firefight.

Like I explained with the scientist. There are jobs that have the same intention as the military. Notice the problem,get to know your enemy,learn about him, know his limits and then solve the problem once and for all, but in this case scientist get praised for it cause their job itself does not cost a human live in the ideal case even though in this case they create diseases that could wipe out the entire human race just to see what might be if….

Soldiers are not doing any different. They get send to a country who is in need of help (Iraq & afganistan government asked for help they did not invade). Not all the intentions of the helping governments are good, some even evil, but how is a soldier responsible for that if he just did his job? 
If your Boss said to do something you knew was wrong, but you would get fired if you denied his order then you would do it cause you don´t want to live on the street. Same case here. Soldiers are just doing what they get told to cause it is their job!.

The next time you rage on the military for being cold blooded killing machines just think about the fact that on both sides noone wants to kill the other one. All soldiers of any military just want to come home safe and most of them are scared to kill somebody and some have severe mental problems for life cause they did. Soldiers are just the pawns of the people who give the orders and mostly have no idea what consequences the orders have they just followed.
Like you have no clue for what purpose you do your work. Do you know you washed money for your company? No you just thought you transfer money on other accounts like you always did as an accountant.
Are you now evil cause you did it? No cause you had no idea what you exactly done,but thinking about the real purpose of your orders were not your job in the first place. If something seems odd about it you can complain like the soldiers do too, but over analizing every order you get is pointless and just ridiculous.
