This is such a funny video. Its not event that bad guys you make it seemed like its a mission just to see if its worth shooting film. Well it is guys and film is every where and not hard to process it also just you guys weren't prepare and didn't educate yourselves to where are you resources to where to take your film and get it processed. Some of us process film at home and avoid the whole looking for a place to process it for us.
Dumbest search EVER! Seriously…Radio Shack or Best Buy for film. CAMERA STORE! Find it with Google. Wasted so much of your time.
In america analogue cameras are dead but if you check out +Mattias Burling channel he does a lot of analogue videos and even hybrid analogue and digital videos too (old school lens on digital cameras).

What I like about these videos is seeing where you live. The areas etc. It looks great. I've thought of emigrating to the US because of the freedoms and the constitution. The place looks beautiful, what is the area roughly. As in the town.
Not dead, I was able to buy some film online for my canon rebel and mail it for development.
Funny you can't find a camera film in market's 🙂 I'm still using my 35 mm camera when I go on vacation etc. and I can get a film almost anywhere 😛

I just picked up an old Yaschica 35 electro GSN and luckily there's a place by my job that develops film. and I can buy film at a CVS or just online. film really is amazing but certainly not as convenient as digital

Why did you go to CVS if you bought the film rolls at Walgreen's?
Armando, if you don't mind driving a bit further, there's Samy's Camera in Pasadena, they certainly sell film, and might still develop/sell developing equipment.
I've been out of the loop for a bit, but do you have a video where you run through some of your basic post-processing techniques for photography? If not, can you do a simple run down?

Armando, I think you didn't insert the batteries in the right place nor get the correct batteries. The batteries for this Nikon FE (I believe the camera is) go in the bottom of the camera not the back, I believe you put batteries in the data back (imprints exposure info on film). Which should explain why the shutter only fired on 'M-90' setting [for using the camera without batteries]. Also film is very much not dead – in Europe anyway.

You should check the manual for the camera, these old cameras have complex mechanics which can go wrong if not manipulated carefully.

I learnt photography on a film camera and we also developed B&W film in-house. We were then given digital cameras to see how our skills had improved with the aid of previews.

It's so cool seeing another Youtuber in Rancho haha. Did you end up finding a place to develop the film?
I didn't get a good look at your camera but it seems to be a Nikon FE. I believe your problem with the shutter is caused by putting the batteries in the wrong spot. The Data back uses 2 MS76 (the back with the date) and the camera uses 2 MS76. The camera batteries are loaded in the bottom. Without batteries the shutter will only work on the mechanical speed of 1/90 (or 1/125 if it's a FE2). If you look at the shutter speed dial you will see the 90 (125), as I recall is red red. If you press the shutter release without batteries it will not operate until you turn the dial to 90. The shutter is a electro-mechanical shutter that requires batteries for all speeds except 1/90. Also without batteries, the proper location, you have no exposure control. I would recommend you get your film at one of the New York big camera video stores so you know it has been stored properly and is fresh. Also, developing should be done by a quality lab. That's what google is for.
Between a Best Buy employee suggesting Urban Outfitters to find camera film and a Radio Shack still being in business has me rolling over here

Armando is going old skool; using analog photocamera, paying with cash (instead of paying with NFC) and crusing around to buy film (instead of asking Google where to buy).

Analog is definitely not dead. You can order film easily from Amazon or filmphotographyproject. There's a ton of ways to get film, just not at the big department stores or electronic stores.
As far as developing, you can use findlab, some Costcos, some Walgreens, etc. You would be surprised how alive film is. For specialty requests like pushing or pulling, you're better off sending it to an actual lab.
And for the camera jamming, it could have just been broken. Which means you may not even have any shots because the film advance could be getting stuck. You can easily find a more reliable camera on sites like KEH or B&H.
Also, yes Urban Outfitters does have film. Mainly Polaroid/impossible project stuff though.

I have the feeling this series will become a quick favorite of mine instantly. Film stills has some enthusiasts but they buy everything online and then you can make the revelation yourself. Take a look at Mattias Burling channel, he makes it look easy. And by the way, this photography you have in your recent videos is dope, seems purple toned or something. Do you use some filter on the lens or you get this when editing?
