Behind the scenes of how I shoot with before and after examples during my recent stay at 3 luxury hotels starting with the exclusive Wild Coast Tented Lodge within Yala National Park. I spent a night each in 3 luxury hotels doing cinemagraph photography with my Lumix GH5S for the owner which they can use as motion graphics for their social media and website.
This is the first time I’ve featured a more in depth look at how I setup, light and shoot my cinemagraphs including interiors with a single Aputure Tech travel light capturing multiple clips to composite later in Adobe After Effects (editing tutorial to come later too).
Wild Coast is situated within the Yala National Wildlife Park on Sri Lanka’s south east coastline with no fences to keep the wildlife out! It’s also got the highest density of leopards per square mile anywhere in the world, not to mention elephants, snakes and other wild creatures. So you have to be escorted at night 😉

Hi Jon, when you are creating a light painting cinemagraph, are you capturing stills or video? Or a combination of both?
