Irfan Pathan is an Indian cricket player who plays as all rounder for the Indian cricket team. He made debut in the year 2003/04 in Border – Gavaskar trophy. He can plays in both Bowling as left arm fast and also batting as left handed batsman. Pathan made his test debut in the year 2003 against the Australia.

Irfan Pathan full name is (Irfan Khan Pathan). He is an Indian Cricketer and he played all formats of the game (TEST, ODI, T20). Irfan is a bowling all rounder. He was born on 27 October 1984, Vadodara, Gujarat in India. Pathan plays for Jammu & Kashmir in domestic cricket. Irfan was an important member or player of 2007 ICC World- Twenty20 winning squad of India. Irfan belongs to the Pathan community in Gujarat. Irfan Pathan married Hyderabad-based model, Safa Baig, on 4 February 2016 in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. His wife Safa is daughter of Mirza Farooq Baig. The couples had a son Imran Khan Pathan, He was born on Decemeber 20, 2016.
Irfan Pathan’s father Mehmood Khan Pathan and mother Shamim Banu. Irfan had an elder brother, his name is Yusuf Pathan, he also an Indian cricketer. Irfan’s father served as the muezzin in a mosque in Vadodara. Although Irfan and Yusuf’s parents wished them to become Islamic scholar, Irfan Pathan and his brother took an interest in cricket.
Irfan Pathan started his career as a fast-medium seam and swing bowler, Irfan broke into the national team soon after turning 19, and evoked comparisons with Pakistan’s bowler Wasim Akram with his promising performances and prodigious swing. Irfan Pathan became the only bowler to take a ‘Test hat-trick’ in the first over of the India Vs Pakistan match at Karachi in 2006. Later unfortunately Phatan steadily lose pace and swing and his wicket taking dwindled. Although Irfan’s batting continued to be productive, Irfan was not regarded as a specialist and was dropped from the team in both Tests and ODI’s by the end of year 2006 and by 2007 was no longer in the squad until return in World Twenty20 in 2007.
Pathan commented his position in the team and was named by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as the 2004 Emerging Player of The Year. Irfan was instrumental in India’s One-Day International and Test Series wins in Pakistan in 2004. Irfan was described by the “Blue-Eyed Boy” of the Indian Cricket.
In 2005 India’s Coach Greg Chappell identifies Irfan’s batting potential and skills. He opened the batting on occasions in One-Day’s and scored 93 runs in a Test match versus Sri Lanka in Delhi. Irfan rose to No.2 in the ICC’s One-Day rankings for all-rounders and was also in the top five in the Test rankings.
Irfan Pathan returned to International cricket in September 2007 for First Ever World Tewnty20, where he took 3 wickets and was Man of The Match as India beat Pakistan in the Final. Later he lost his form and struggled with injuries. He couldn’t maintain his place in the team and played his last Test for India in April 2008 against South Africa.
