I made this tutorial LAST MINUTE because I was going out to test shoot anyway, I figured I would videotape and do a tutorial for it. This isn’t an award winning tutorial – I know – but I tried my absolute best. I had my sister shoot this with a camera that I borrowed from my other sibling, and I also used the camera I shot with.
Lenses used are 35mm 1.4 and 50mm 1.2. Hope you like it anyway or find it useful, I WILL be making more soon…hopefully with better video quality and better overall presentation.

What metering technic were you using when against sunlight?
Digital newbies beware.
I use 18-105mm( Nikon kit), with which I tried to use this trick a lot of time but I failed to get clear picture due to a lo of lens flare…what am I doing wrong? Is it the lens responsible?
Mam , can you please tell me what to do when the models face appears dark due to bright sun in the back ? Increasing the ISO would brighten the sky much more or decreasing the ISO will darken the face even more. Please help
Why did you use iso 200 when you could easily use iso 100 and not use such a fast shutter speed?

What this video is saying in other words, is that she doesn't understand supplemental lighting. This is a typical path-of-least-resistance method. In many ways, little better than cell phone photography.

Surely a touch of fill flash or at least a reflector would balance the exposure on the models face out. Obviously this can be brightened in post but why not start out with the correct technique. I only saw one shot where the models face was nicely exposed.
This is personal preference and depends upon what you're vision is but for me sidelighting gives much more depth and visual interest if you have the choice.
The model's face was under-exposed. You'd get way better exposure on your model's face if you used spot metering and slowed down your shutter speed. Good job though!
