which one would you recommend? buy me a coffee or patreon?

  2. Channel Comics says

I am not mad at you for saying it. I had been reluctant to do things like no-fi out of fear I would make people upset with me for wanting support for my comic. I totally agree with your attitude.

  3. Twisted Pneuma says

Weird to come across your video, our names are similar 🙂

  4. EmeralDQueenTV says

I love supporting my friends and other artists I follow, they are always fun and get very happy when you spare a few dollars to help them out. I like your approach to this and I've started a ko-fi for my art. Love your Digital Art work…thanks for sharing your thoughts!!!

I have a question, will you answer my comment? 0w0

  9. Fawn_Draws says

This is a really dumb question: What if someone tips you and you feel bad? Because every time someone tips me when I do a commission for them, like..say it's a few extra DA points or maybe an extra dollar or two through paypal. Like, I feel the need to say: "Aww, you didn't have to do that. Are you sure you don't want your [insert payment type and number here] back? That's really sweet, but you didn't have to tip me."

How do I get over that? I know they're being nice and want to help and support me, but it's just a weird thing I have..

Also, I love supporting other artists, Most of the time, I get my friends core on DA when they're running out of points to do so or as a gift.

One other thing: I love hearing you talk and ramble, and everything. Especially when I'm drawing xD

Do you have any advice for an artist like me? I did a collab (that ended in drama due to the other selling it but that's dealt with), which boosted my channel from 200 subs to 1.4k subs in a week, but now, even though I see my art is clearly better than before (as well as the videos), my views have stagnated aroudn 200 views when they used to be 1k views.
Is there anything a smol artist like me who wants to start commissions soon could do to fight against this stagnation?

  11. Hopeless Peaches says

I work as a waitress part-time and we get shared tips, and I kid you not, I feel like I am the only one working some nights because of that. Instead, if a customer has had a bad night due to the food or incompetent staff, btu wanna tip me for helping, I outright reject the money.

  12. AJ_27 says

I really don't like the idea that because I'm an artist and I don't want to spend money on art that I don't want, I'm an a##hole.

  13. Jetrocker7 says

when can you tell your art is good enough to start doing commissions or patreon/ko-fi?

  14. auddities says

Im an artist… And i buy others art all the time that i like… For me if i think i could make that, but know in actuality i wont do it even if i could…. Ill buy it to help others out and have some cool art to ahow off.

I feel like tipping waiters is mandatory just because of the shitty wages you get. However, the amount you tip depends on the service you get. As for tipping artists, it’s great incentive, but art is a product, it’s not a service. You don’t tip the cashier at Walmart when you buy pencils. I let people know about my tip jar and my fav artist will direct you there if you want him to draw something really specific (which takes time away from his comics, Commissions, and art projects he needs to get done).

  16. Kingsley Hine says

"If you want people to support you, you need to support other people."

    Here, here!
So true… Not to mention that that's exactly how communities like these thrive!

  17. Morgan Neeb says

A hair dresser horror story video should be an idea (like if you agree)

  18. Rylie Clothier says

My parents always tip for service. They've tipped the busboy and not the waiter, or when the service is terrible they'll tip a penny. Also, they talk to the manager for horrible service or great service.

  19. KiritaWindwalker says

My mom worked as a waitress… You tip ATLEAST a dollar a person unless the service was horrible… We've only ever not tipped ONCE. And we were ignored, the bus boy who never weights tables and didnt speak english was getting our drinks as we watched the waitress stare at three tables and jump on them if the glass was below half. We arent the best tippers im sure but we always tip and we were loyal customers and with it being a buffet I think a dollar a person for just drink refills is pretty generous.. I know some people wont tip at all if its a buffet..

As a artist, i'd love to support other artist, especially ones just starting out as a career like I currently am but I lack funds. 🙁 But I even put it on my patreon page that once I got to a certain point i'll be taking like $100 a month to spend on commissions from other artist to help support them and because i'll have the income at that time that I could blow through that kind of money on something like art without having to starve for a month… But I cant understand how another artist wouldnt want to pay for things to be done for them. Yah you can do it yourself or you can get this cool, different style done for a good price and know from experience that "hey, thats a great deal." or "Wow, that took a lot of effort!"

i love the quality of your video, your story telling feels really genuine and heartfelt. id love to tip you when i can! :3c

  21. Crystal Paint says

I wanna commission but I have to limit what I spend because I'm only 13 and I can't really make money off any jobs yet. (even at home :T)

  22. terrianime13 says

I'm getting nowhere in my kofi…i love doing my own thing and like to doing art for people but it been the long time that I have to think about commission and money. I'm a very late bloomer right now as an artist. I would love to support many artist that i love but i really do that when i have no money in hand and I really want to help my mom with money problems as well. Try to promote in a few websites but it not getting me somewhere. to the point that I'm a little discourage that maybe my art not good enough for anyone to support. idk what to do about this

  23. Renoldo Jeffrey says

  24. Nukori says

  25. xJuno says

tbh i want to start my commissions before christmas and i would propably invest spare money that i have from commissions just to commission my favorite artists.

  26. Stephanie Wozny says

Hee hee, " help me jar". There's a term for that: online panhandling.

  27. kira michelist says

Where I live, people working as a server in restaurants are paid with what the restaurant earns, and tips are like extras, but apparently in America I heard they were almost only paid with tips, is that true?? That's perhaps why Americans seem to find tips so important, idk I wondered

  28. Alexander-LR says

I actually love supporting my friends and other artists. That's why I commission them and donate a few dollars to their Paypal or Patreon. But yeah, it sucks to now that a lot of different artists don't really support on another, especially since many (not all) of them rely on their clients and fans for financial support.

  29. snake mommy says

I looooove your art! It's both really adorable and really cool looking
    But
And I'm sorry I have to say this

It looks like you're bathing in poop instead of coffee… sorry X,D
IM TOO IMMATURE PLEASE IGNORE THIS

  30. Nemi Schultz says

HELL YES. I greatly agree with supporting other artists when you're an artist yourself!! These past couple of months I've been lucky to have the extra dough. I could've hoarded it, yea, but y'know what? I have art friends who hardly get commissions, and yea, I could keep drawing my own character Ozzy but dude, my friends have hella cute art and need to be supported too, so I chucked that extra dough at them and got some adorable art. And when I can't commission friends, I love to give shoutouts about them either on dA or on tumblr cuz their art is sooo good!

  31. Emilia Lavander says

I've supported artist through buy me a Coffee and it worked well the artist revived their money and I left them my Email incase they wanted to contact me about anything and they did they said thank you and they asked me if I wanted them to draw me something because I paid them and I told them the didn't have to (because I knew they where over working as it was) and I can always just wait until they where more free and I did end up receiving art and it was amazing. Just a personal story on topic kinda

  32. JBCBlank says

In Japan, it's rude to tip. 🙂

  33. Yeina Muto says

Sorry if I sound rude but, why do people ask for tips? I've seen a lot of post about tipping your server and the like, but I don't get it. Is it an American thing?

  34. Bab Rass says

One of my most favorite things to do when I commission is tipping the artist. I love their reaction when I give them more than they charge, especially if they're under-pricing their work. I see some amazing artists doing commissions for like, 5 or 10$, so I end up tipping them like 25 bucks and it makes me feel so good inside.

  35. Karma Larma says

I'm glad you covered this topic because I've seen a lot of bad feelings around artists having Ko-fi links on their pages and things as if they're panhandling or something. It's to support the artist!

Since you know a lot more about this, I've got a question for you. I'm thinking of starting a Patreon some time soon, but since that requires having an account and monthly subscription and yadda yadda, I was thinking of putting a Ko-fi link as well wherever my Patreon link is, as an alternative if someone just wants to give a one time tip. Do you think it's bad taste to have both in descriptions of videos/art? I just mean for them to be two different ways to support my work, but I worry people will see them and go "Oh this person only posts for money, look at all those money related links".

  36. BezzyCay says

I wish youtube would let you edit video files on here. :/ It's a pain to reupload.

  37. Grimm Doll says

Please tip your server regardless of the service, at least a little bit because 2.13 an hour does not cut it. Tipping is stupid and outdated and horrible and should not be a thing that exists, but it is still incredibly necessary. Artists aren't included in this, in most cases, you tip an artist when you really enjoy their work, for a waitress that can be the difference between affording gas or bus fare or what have you to get to work the next day.
Trust me, I hate tipping just as much as anyone else, but still, please tip your server.

  38. Avery Spake says

why do i love your voice so much
for that same reason why are you so awesome
also you art is greeeaaaaaTT and it makes me happy

    Love your vids btw

  47. Jennie Poisson says

I’m sorry but I just wanna put my input on something, I know you didn’t mean it in a rude way but I personally don’t think you should say you “don’t have to tip your waiter”, it’s just that right now I’m working as a waitress for $5.00 an hour and I always do my best all the time for the customers and there have been many times where I have been stiffed and I did nothing wrong. So when some one says “you don’t have to tip your waiter” then I think just a little bit that you are promoting not tipping people and you know then I get jack shit. Sorry for my little rant.

  48. NiiTK says

I was confused for a second when you re-uploaded it xD
