DIGITAL ART BEGINNERS GUIDE – This is the ultimate beginners tutorial painting a digital portrait. I worked in Photoshop, using a Wacom drawing tablet. This tutorial also applies to other digital painting software. I used an Adobe stock photo for this painting.

In this tutorial I’ll show you how you can ‘cheat’ a bit and skip the initial sketching fase by tracing a photo. It’s a great way to practice your painting skills. Besides, it might encourage you a bit and keep you motivated.

In this video I’ll show you the process from sketch to finished painting and tell you about the techniques I’m using.
