In this video I compare the brand new Rode Wireless Go wireless lavalier kit to the Sennheiser XSW-D lav kit. Both are very small and easy to use but they each have their own Pro’s and Con’s.

I thought the Sennheiser sounds fuller and Rode somewhat tinny, both with and without the lav.
does it work with iphone x/xs max? some lavaliers do not.
Damn that Rode sounds way better LOL but now do you REALLY think this would work at Weddings in church at the venue etc… for that price!! getting ready to purchase Sennheiser AVX for about $1000 for our A6500 and A7III for events but at this cheap price I guess this could be a Back Up or just might be able to buy just to try it?
GO with lav mic was the best sound for my taste.
Max, do you have any industry professionals knowledge or a background in videography?
Although cheaper than the Sennhieser, its still a lot of money. The only one I could afford was £59 on Amazon, but probably rubbish sound in comparison! Thanks for the review, I think I’ll have to save up. At least I already have a Rode SmartLav+.
Buying these because of your review. Thank you
hello, is it compatible with iphone 7?
Thank you.
Good job
Check out my Bluetooth wireless mic setup that I came up with for much less and works great !

have you done something wrong? how could the sennheiser sound so bad on your video, if really sound that bad, could you ask sennheiser what is wrong with it.
hi – is there a way to feed two Rode mics into the same camera….e.g. when filming a two person interview. Thank you.
RODE killed it!
The Rode is the best cleared voice and perfect for carry out side without to many cable I want it.
Sennheiser is still better built with better quality sound, Rode is unheard of and I’ll just wait till everyone else spends their money trying out the Rode and see what happens.
Will the a6400 screen flip vertical with the receiver in place (OK, I know it'll block some of the screen, but it may still be usable…?)
want wireless go!
Can you connect more than one transmitter to the reciver?
This comparison is a blessing, I recently got into the market for a wireless system for my DSLR. You’ve definitely assisted me in making a decision
Been using the rode link, these look way more portable. Would like to see a comparison between these and the link
Nice review Max. Looks very interesting! The audio test still sounds rather hot on both of them. Do you record at -18 then normalise in post?
Can you use the Sennheiser lavalier mics on the Rode wireless system. I'm talking about the mics that have the screw lock capability.
Is there an XLR connection available on the rode? The Sennheiser supports XLR and 3.5 mm.
Never liked the sound from rode, always sounds very tinny, open, and without character. You need the mic for your voice.
Can I send the Line level signals (From my Mixer) into this ?
Finally the industry is starting to drop prices for main consumers. I remember I paid $60 to rent a $2000 G2 wireless kit when I used to do weddings.
Now that video and sound is no longer just for pros we should start seeing more affordable stuff targeted for Mass market
should be great for interviews
