It has been quite the event! All 10 judges had flown in to Tokyo to assess, debate, and finally select the winners from a total of 76,356 entries for the Nikon Photo Contest 2016-17! Not everyone agreed, but this only served to enhance the creative collaboration between the judges, as well as what they learnt about the world & more.

I wonder how the initial judging was done when someone first enters their photo. So if someone in America enters the Nikon contest, is the initial judging done by a judge in America or Japan. And the same in Australia, would someone's photo be initially judged by Nikon Australia or by a judge in Japan. I'm interested in the whole process of judging from beginning to end. Thanks
