Wingsland M1 GPS Drone 2019 Version Flight Test Review

31 24

A batch of the 2019 Wingsland M1 was recently being sold on many websites such as Banggood. Improvements over the older 2015 version included a much better 5 inch receiver monitor, added pan control (not just tilt), and greatly extended FPV range. So great an increase in FPV range that I’m not sure about the legality of its FPV transmitter. However, it still has some gimbal stutter issues. They sent me this one for review. Unfortunately the small stock that most sites had seems to have sold out rapidly. And I’m not sure when or if they’ll ever be restocked.

Anyways, here’s my review of it, just in case another batch becomes available. And IMHO I think that those of you that were able to snap it up at its under $200 (and some under $150) price got a bargain.

    Awesome !!!
    Is it only $200 ?!?!

    I have Potensic T35 and it's $230, no gimbal.

I love my T35 but this quad looks great too 🙂

I'd steer well clear of anything from Wingsland. I bought V1 or this drone a few years back, it had gimbal issues, would not RTH, would often flip over when attempting take off. I just hope they've addresses these issues on this re-released one.

    1. My headless mode switch is at the top position, swapping with the circle me one

    2. I can only get about 75-100m of fpv reception before it gets so scratchy I cant see anything

    3. Even after it says it's done the GPS calibration and has sufficient satellites, it still almost immediately toilet bowls, any ideas?

    4. Theres an English switch for the menu.

Great review! Ordered mine from Banggood Jan 31 2019. Came in mail today 04 18 2019, have not flown (Bad weather in Alabama). Down loaded the full Manual in PDF form. Manual that came with it was in Chinese . Wanted this drone from your Keeper series from 2015. After going through the parts I found that a spring in the right hand stick has come loose, opened back of transmitter and fixed, no big deal. I have used your recommendations for quadcopters for several purchases. The Syma X5c was first, then the Hubsan H501s, then the H502s, the Cheerwing CW4 series and so forth. I did purchase the Yuneec Q500 4k and later the Breeze since the prices drooped to a bargain level. At the age of going on 76 years I find these machines a wonder to behold! Thank you for the great service you provide! I watch everyday!!

Looks good. I gotta think the desert would be prime for distance.

I wanted this drone badly 3 years ago but glad I went with the Autel XSP instead. It seems they still haven't fixed the gimbal issues which is a shame. Too bad they didn't upgrade the camera too. The fisheye lens is not ideal. It does seem like a massive improvement over the original so anyone that got one for under $200 got a deal. I wonder if you could rig up an aftermarket gimbal and action cam and get better results.
