Really good ideas for getting started. Very doable even for someone just starting out like me
It's difficult to focus on local when you're from a city like Toronto where everyone and their grandma is a professional photographer…
Amazing content, now I know where to start. Thank you so much
Where is the link to your gallery to buy the prints you mentioned in this post? I'd love to snag a print.
hello there did you shoot the video in the car with an action cam ?
Great video!
I imagine you use facebook to reach out to your local community? Also which sites do you use for selling prints or writing blogs? I have seen wordpress for blogs and snugmug for selling prints. Do you believe these to be good or what do you recommend?
Focusing on 'loco'
Video is very helpful.
Damnnnnn informational as hell
Thank you Taylor – so helpful . Have naturally done the first four. Step five – yikes…difficult for an introvert.
Good tips. This is actually what I did. Take a lot of local content, its a beautiful place, bit of luck, it helps. Tho I gotta say that the interest to it, is very limited, and also very short and hard to sustain. Sold a few prints, allowed people to put the images on their websites, sold a few postcards. Later I took all the images and as I am also a graphic designer, created a calendar out of it, it nearly sold out. And now also spawned copycats. I honestly would like to make more out of it than 2 months of income. I kinda feel everyone knew who I was locally, for a very short period, and then it moved back to obscurity again.
Hi Taylor, great chanel, it's awesome what you're sharing! On the "local" part, I live in Belgium, compared to cities in the USA it's pretty small. So in like square miles/km's, what is considered local?
its a popularity contest!
Great information here. I've been doing this for a while now. You don't even have to be a beginner photographer to get doing this. I haven't really started selling much in the way of prints but I was commissioned a couple of times to create some abstract works of art that dealt with local buildings. It was a crazy fun project. I've got a cool tactic based on this strategy and it's resulted in my city Mayor mentioning my photography on Facebook. I'm more interested in B to B vs B to C, but would not hurt to try selling prints. haha. Great Video!
Great video. Any detailed info on how to price? That’s one of my struggles. I feel I’m either charging to much or not enough. Thanks
I'm so thankful I discovered your channel, even if just for this one video. I'm gonna try shooting around my local city and build a portfolio/website. Thanks so much for the idea!
Nice video! Just came across your channel 👌🏼 NEW Sub!
Don’t trust anyone who drives an AMG and doesn’t drift around intersections
great video! so helpful, thank you for sharing! Have a blessed day!
Insanely helpful. First steps are always hard and I do look that you mentioned that if you're out taking every job, then that might delegate the direction of your photography.
Hi Taylor,Good Job as usually . Why there is no subtitle option in your videos? It is helping lot to me to understand right the details in other channels.
I just moved from Korea and now living in America. Those ideas of your are good to get started. The local community is the best place to do work and to get work.
