Ring Floodlight Cam – 2 Year Review. Does it still work?
Well, it has been 2 years since I uploaded my first review of the Ring floodlight camera. So this light camera from Ring has been in the market for 2 years already. I don’t think there have been any hardware updates on this. I will link my original review and my 2 months, 6 months, 1 year reviews on this camera below.

I also did a lot of other videos comparing this floodlight camera to other ring cameras and also other brands.
I used to say that this WiFi camera from Ring has been the most reliable and dependable WiFi security camera that I own. I can now safely say that this is also the most durable.

Mine doesn't say a person was detected
A lot down to you! Certainly with the colour night modes you appeared to pilot and push with ring! I bought mine off the back of your reviews over a year ago. Thank you.
Excellent video as usual. Ring has consistently improved the algorithm for motion detection, my cameras would go off with constant motion detection during rain storms, now they don't even with me increasing the sensitivity. I have all my cameras set to record with entry delay for the Ring Alarm, I love that new feature in linked devices. Now if they can finally come out with the 'beams' lights, I can complete my setup. Lifehackster, do you have any info on why they've delayed the release twice?
I just bought 2 at Costco on sale and installed them… One thing I was disappointed about was how quiet the siren was. Overall it is great. I wish ring would come out with an add on siren.
Had mine for 5 months now, no issues. Since this camera is the one that gets used the most vs our front door, I only subscribe to the flood light camera thru Ring $30 year. Also, I have set up the flood light to only come on during motion at night and to stay on 3 min…this is prolong the life of the NON removable LED lens. I have also set up times as to when the motion should not be acknowledged, such as the time I leave for work every morning. That way I do not get a notification and neither does my wife. Mine is mounted under a eave and helps with the weather. I do sometimes have to wipe away some spider webs. Got a cool video of a Bubble Bee checking out the camera! RING on!
I love this camera and have had no connection problems.
I have three Ring products so my whole house is covered. Only had them 6 weeks but they are superb. Gives a lot of peace of mind.
I saw an update this week where they started supporting more z-wave devices like light switches, outlets etc. have you tried any of that yet?
Kuya, Great video again. I purchase this item after your first post. When I installed this Floodlight cam, I did have to use a Netgear Extender. Recently, I upgraded my Netgear Wifi Router plus Extender to TP Link AC5400 Router, I haven't had need to use an extender anymore. I think you might like this product too.
I just picked it up 3 days ago and installed it.
Which color would you say holds up better, black or white? I’ve seen black security cameras and the black plastic has faded from being exposed to the sun. Can’t wait for your Ring Smart Lighting review, cheers!
Sounds like a keeper!
Yup it’s great no problems for me. I bought it thanks to you
Had mine for about a year and a half when it got really cold last year it started flashing for no reason had to shut it down before the neighbor complained, called Ring they sent me $100 off code to buy new one. upgraded my wifi system this year still lag a little had the delivery guy came all the way to the camera before it started to recorded, overall its still good camera better then nothing. When it rains the glare from passing cars far away keeps setting off my sensor for no reason can anyone explain.
I agree the floodlight cam is a solid product. Mine is also about 2 years old and has survived two Chicago winters and summers. I wish I could say the same thing about my battery spotlight cam. I am currently waiting for my second replacement camera. I have only been able to go 7-8 months before having problems.
Because of your reviews, I purchased 2 Ring flood lights and a doorbell. Keep up the great honest reviews. 👍
I want one…
I've had my cameras now for two years from day one and I did notice a flaw with the original plate
The rubber gasket continuously covered the whole plate which didn't allow moisture to leak out the bottom in which it kept the moisture in the box which the camera failed eventually they did replace it for me but I too didn't see too many updates with the firmware or anything like that
My Ring floodlight camera will be two years old in June. I got one up on you. My Ring flood light has survived – 20 below 0 last February and zero problems with it. I am still glad I bought it. Even my battery operated Ring spotlight camera and solar panel has survived the below 0 weather, although with lack of sun and cold weather, the battery dropped to just 50%. I manually charged up battery at that time and it still charges to 100 percent on sunny days.
Thanks for the update.

Now i know what to get for my first camera. Thanks
Thanks mate, great video
Hey, LifeHackster . . .
Thank you for all your FOLLOW-UP reviews. I think these follow-up reviews is what makes your channel unique and excellent. Many other YouTube product reviewers do not have follow-up reviews like you.
For retirees, like me, we don't always have the budget to immediately purchase the latest and greatest technology. If we buy a product too quickly — and that product doesn't have excellent reliability — it can be a very costly mistake when living on a tight retiree budget. So, if your review follow-up shows a product is working well after a few months, it gives me greater confidence to make the purchase.
I really like Ring products, and I have the Ring Pro doorbell you recommended. After replacing the old under-powered bell transformer, the Ring Pro works well and gives me an added sense of security at home. On the other hand, Ring's outdoor camera products are still a bit pricy for my budget. So, I am patiently waiting for Wyze to release their first outdoor security cameras (hopefully by fall).
Speaking of Wyze . . . I pre-ordered the Wyze SENSE Starter Kit for $19.99. If this kit works as well as their videos claim, Wyze may have another hit product. I intend to use my Sense Starter Kit to monitor the opening and closing of two small garage doors. I respect your opinion and hope you will be reviewing the new kit soon.
With kind regards,
T.

Salamat. Naka sale ang ring ngayon.
Good to see that after 2 years the camera has held up under the elements, and that you still have good quality video & that Ring is still updating it. 🙂
I agree with you 110% I've also had my ring cameras for about 2 years now and not had any issues with them and I live in Canada where it gets super cold
Good timing. I just ordered this camera 10 minutes ago.
First!!!
