1 32

This two-part event, presented in connection with the exhibition “Never a Lovely So Real: Photography and Film in Chicago, 1950–1980,” begins with a conversation among exhibition artists Darryl Cowherd, Roy Lewis, Ozier Muhammad, Jim Stricklin, and exhibition curator Michal Raz-Russo considering their work in Chicago’s South Side.

Following the conversation is a discussion about the impact and lasting legacy of these artists’ work among journalist and author Natalie Moore of WBEZ; Kyra Kyles, co-founder of Myth Lab Entertainment and former editor-in-chief EBONY magazine; Romi Crawford, historian at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; and artists Maria Gaspar and Tonika Johnson
