Night Photography for Your Wedding
In this video Photographer Dave Bigler talks about how night photography can really spice up your wedding photos. This video also includes a behind the scenes look at a recent night shoot that Dave did with local model DeAnna Leckonby.
Huge thanks to Angela’s Bridal ( for providing us with the dress and Alayne Curtiss and Make Me Fabulous ( for DeAnna’s hair and makeup.
Special thanks to our video sponsor Mazzone Hospitality. If you are getting married, start your venue and catering search with Mazzone!

Thanks for the comments, but sorry to disappoint; the intended audience for this video is brides that are planning their wedding, not other photographers. I am sure Creativelive.com has far better instructors that can get you started. My one bit of advice; just mess around, have fun and make something far greater of your own creation.

Completely useless to someone wanting to learn. Perhaps I misunderstood the point of the video.
I don't understand not sharing the settings. Though, obviously, this video is intended for potential clients. But it would get a lot more views and have a more influential impact if you intended it for photographers. Beautiful work!
a tutorial would be nice.
can i do it with 18-55mm lens and regular flash and environmental lightning?
i really want to learn night photography.
Its shame Dave that you don't actually show how you set up your lighting system with video footage and examples of camera settings and power settings you used with your speedlites, I can see that you used a speedlite to back light your model through the barn door but again no information on your video on how to do this.. , I feel that would be more beneficial to photographers like myself trying to learn how to setup off camera speedlites correctly… Amazing photos, only wish I could be as good
What continuous lights were you using for the phtography?
We used 5 canon 600 Speedlights and 1 Lowel ID Video light to get focus. I added gels to the flashes to have consistent color balance with the video light. Flash placement and the number of flashes implemented was unique to each scene. Have fun and make it your own – Dave Bigler
nice can you tell us how to do it… or whats the name for the battery to carry for your lighting?
please show us the lightning placement.. thank you..
