PROBLEM: tons of old slides you want in digital format but no money
SOLUTION: watch this video to learn how to convert your slides into digital photos for free.
i dont know why people are complaining. This is working just fine. I stole some old slides of over 40 years at my parents and managed to get them on my iphone thanks to this video.
LAME
Giving this a thumbs down sure felt good but it does not make up for the 1:34 of my time that I lost.
Well it got our attention, mission accomplish
What a waste of time….oh, thanks for nothing.
Are you high???????? wow
I don't like the slides. n I want to get em off
I especially like the laughs — even the people involved know how stunningly inarticulate this video is.
Dumbest, most inarticulate video EVER!
Very creative! I finally figured out to use my old slide projector, project it on my old screen, and take a pic with my ipad.
What is this crapola…
I was trying to assemble something in the workshop with a metal slide arm that bolts to my camera tripod. This method was much easier. Thanks for posting this, it worked very well.
are these special people?
This tutorial would almost be tolerable if it didn't have such god awful music.
You are the abuser
totally stupid – should be pulled from YouTube for wasting people's time.
Stupid
This was the mock.st reducace audio i had ever heard what the heck are you on?
I was just enjoying this video when, suddenly, my hometown on your last slide!
Have you tried your computer with a white screen "on your browser"?
just save "<body bgcolor="White"></body>" to a file named "name.html".
then drag it to the browser. or find a white part of any webpage.
I agree 100%. She seems a bit unstable, and her first appearance was a little like the famous scene from Psycho (Alfred Hitchcock). A little less bizarre drama, and a little more actual information would have been helpful, but maybe she's just after the page views, more than showing people how to do it? At least it gives us an idea to work on though, so it wasn't TOTALLY useless!! :O)
You spend more time screwing around watching everyone else screw around, yet, never actually show what you did!! I presume you then took a digital camera and took a dinky picture of the illuminated slide – I don't know, you never show it, too busy wasting time on nonessential b/s.
Smart idea! Must see if I can also digitize the slides by using my iPhone and this contraption.
Isn't it better and easier to project the slide to a white wall and take a photo of it with a camera on a tripod?
Genius! I must give this a go.
Genius! I must give this a go.
You need a cheap secondhand camera thats good in macro or supermacro too.
The old canon powershot a430 etc seriesare good for this.
Just because you don't like it doesn't make it stupid. It's not meant for everyone, but I can definitely see how it works.
Due to the fact that I have thousands of slides that I want to convert, this seems to be a bit more time consuming than I can spare. Although I have to be careful with my money, I think I'm going to buy a converter instead.
That being said, your idea is clever and I enjoyed watching your video.
Thanks Stellabelle, when I was searching on how to convert my slides to digital in a DIY sense this clip came up first. It was very clear and concise. I enjoyed the presentation along with the music. I'm glad you're not put off by the abuse, but I couldn't bite my tongue. I need to realise that some people CHOOSE to be stupid.
Thanks again for your video.
If there's one thing that YouTube has taught me is that there is such fury inside people and they feel it necessary to unleash it in bizarre ways! All I was trying to do was to solve a problem with this video, a problem I had encountered through the years as a photographer with loads of slides. I'm totally used to the abuse from strangers on YouTube. I'm fine, but many are not doing very well!
why is it dumb? It solved one of my most pressing issues that I faced for years! I had tons of slides and not a penny to spend on fancy converter gadgets. I knew there were others out there who could build a simple set up in their home for nothing. You do need a decent digital camera for this to work though.
I will tell my Dad, he's the one who created the method. Simple and yet gets the job done!
you now have a digital version of your slide contained within your digital camera. Performance was done to hold provide entertainment while you learn. Drab How To videos are a chore to watch!
thanks.
You gotta choose: time or money. Whichever you have more of, do it. This is just to help people who have time to do the project. You won't get perfect results, but you will get the job done.
This method is for people who don't want to spend any money, and use whatever tools they have at home. The title states DIY.
Yeah, you missed it alright, but that's cool, I'm not going to call you out on it. Just in furture when you don't get something, rather than call it stupid and make yourself look stupid, just keep your mouth closed and keep us guessing as to how stupid you are 🙂
Do you really need them to dumb it down any more for you?
Brilliant! Thanks!
Am I missing something? so how does that convert the slides? and what a performance, Not really impressed..

They said they had no money……
I do reckon that with a little effort (and very little money) you could set up a piece of wood, with a slide mount on it, that allows you to slip slides in and out without risking movement and keeps the slide and camera in plane. A brighter light and using tracing paper as a diffuser would also allow for better white- balanced (less risk of yellow) and brighter shots.
and…? Got a better idea? I agree it's not optimal but what an unhelpful comment.
Hmmm – Interesting how you never see any photos of the results. Want to see something that really works and shows the results? Checkout ShotCopy.com
