UGH!! Am I familiar with that Arizona company.  Ridiculous to charge $440 for getting lighted halfway through the left arrow signal.

What if there is no camera infront of me? In my case im making a left at an intersection. The traffic light im heading towards has no camera nor the one to my right.

The camera is directly above me (the stop line) and the other on the signal to my left (which i eventually pass under on my left turn). Meaning the camera directly above me can't capture me until im either in the intersection or approaching the intersection. The second camera (im not sure if the lens capures all the way to the stop line i was approaching) can capture again a picture of me in the intersection and after i clear it.

In conclusion, there is only 2 cameras at this intersection and i would say aren't capable of capturing me right before the stop line. I would like to hear you all's opinions and tboughts on this. Is there a case?

    wow high-tech!!!

  6. James Naraine says

What happens if you crossed the line, get flashed, but come to a complete stop before entering the intersection. The camera measures speed, so I’m guessing since the camera on the other side of the intersection didn’t get a chance to flash, meaning I didn’t fully cross the intersection, also I was down to 0 mph.

the inventors of these things should be shot in public

  8. Joe Hilliam says

    Fucking scammers

  9. Daniel Libich says

As those took a look how intersections secured by red light cameras catch red light runners not before they wonder how the cameras are used to snap a picture which in turn is used as evidence of a ticket to be mailed to the registered owner when there would be options on fighting the ticket in court or possibility identifying the driver at the time of the incident.

  10. Moo Moo Puppy says

There was a car in front of me at a normal intersection, To the right there was a cop car stopped at the light. The car in front of me passed the limit line but the cop didnt do anything. The driver in front backed up after the cop left. How far in front of the line do you have to be in order for the cop to pull the guy over?

  11. Brent Purvis says

I got a ticket because i crossed when it was yellow now since i found all the cameras avoid them in my car and then just cover up the plate on my motorcycle to where a camera wont get it because i cant stop the bike as fast as the car and ive had to hop on the curb to avoid the ticket when i couldn't stop fast for a light that changes quickly the lights are some bull shit

  12. Jorge Uribe says

What if your in yellow and it turns red when you’re in the middle of the intersection

  14. Sha Money says

Quick question if the light is yellow and u in the middle of a next slow car that had u in the middle will that person get flash or no because that person was in the middle and the car behind me got flash 2 time so that’s for that car and not that other person that was in the middle of that slow car in front of me ??????

  15. Whitehammer322 says

Fuck i just ran a red light so i looked this up to see if im fucked and i can confirm that i am fucked

  16. movie Master says

what if you try to stop and your car slides through due to ice on yellow then turns red as you are pass the line??

  17. quaztron says

What happens when they wait 57 days before mailing you the NOTICE OF LIABILITY? That is an unacceptable abuse – have they not waived their right to bill you? (They have no excuse for running a backlog. It looks like an effort at revenue enhancement.) (What about my right to a fair and speedy trial?) Is there not a time limit in the law?

  18. بندق Master says

    How about turning right???

  19. Brian Berthold says

to bad all red light camera are illegal being how do you face your accuser when its a computer if you cant face your accuser there is no case

  20. Dan Lo Fat says

There is no system in place where the company that runs the cameras produces a citation a citation is only produced by a sworn police officer after police officer review which is after camera company review. There is never a case where a citation is pre produced prior to a police officer reviewing it it's a lie to say otherwise.

  21. Dan Lo Fat says

There isn't in any County city or state in the land that has more than a $100 ticket for a red camera violation $500 you're insane and he doesn't even go more than double if you don't pay it within a certain amount of time and that's what you always win in court anyway so why bother. You show me in any code anywhere where it's $500 put in a link or it didn't happen and it didn't happen.

  22. roman kalinchuk says

So you can still go through without a ticket as long as you go through slowly

  23. John Holmes says

Most tickets are pure economic extortion under the color of law. Courts are corrupt and just want your money. Right or wrong the courts dont care. Never roll over and pay the fine. Do your research and always fight your tickets.

  24. TheTayz says

At least in Texas they are legally required to put up a big sign that says "PHOTO ENFORCED" at red light camera-enabled intersections. Hope it's like that elsewhere. Gives you a warning to be extra wary of yellows.

  25. Hugo Ramirez says

Can i still get a red light ticket if there's no rear photo of my car

  26. Freedoms Battle Pirates says

System is fine. If youre too thick to stop on red and go only on green, then you cant complain. Idiots

  27. skeleguns 10,ooo,ooo says

What happens when you lock up the brakes

  28. Jalleh Doty says

Wake up sheeple. When are people going to start launching class action suits against the cities and police depts that endorse this corruption? Fuck all the pigs that endorse this scam. Police have to make up for there uselessness in collaborating with cities, to extort money out of people. I have dones tons of research that prove these systems are faulty after being assaulted with a notice supposedly saying I ran a red light. One by one our rights will be eroded as the police will get more repressive making up shit fines over the few years. Mark my words

  29. Robert Bennett says

red light cameras is only a revenue enhancment there isnt really a good use for them

  30. berezza says

My dad had to wait 3 minutes for a red light when there was no cars. So he went pass the light and it was photo enforced…. But why 3 minutes

  31. Joe Vignolo says

The yellow lights at intersections should be augmented or replaced with countdown clocks to show the time remaining until the light turns red. This would assist oncoming drivers similarly to how countdown clocks help pedestrians cross more safely.

  32. Joe Vignolo says

Yesterday I saw a police officer make a right on red without stopping. However, he didn't pull himself over and give himself a ticket. I guess the rules only apply to civilians. And no his flashing roof lights weren't on.

  33. Akhil Sajith says

I have a question. I accidentally ran a red light and the cameras went off, however, my car is brand new and it has dealership license plates with the logo of the make of the car and dealership name. Also my face was taken. Although this was during night so I'm not sure if the paper license plates may have been not received because of the strong flash. Any ideas? I have a temporary dmv paper taped to my windshield but the lettering is in gray and very tiny doubt it could be picked up. Thanks

  34. Coil Smoke says

Not $500 Dollars. At least not here in Maryland. Red Light and Photo Enforced speeding fines are $40 Bucks. Can that $500 figure be confirmed ?

  35. Pritpal Singh Gill says

If I was at halt on red light, but I moved after the other side light turns red and mine is yet to become green and I crossed the intersection before it turns green. Would the camera not going to capture me as a violator?

  36. J & J says

What if your passing through yellow lol

  38. Gamer Trevor says

This is "so" helpful this doesn't help because I live in Australia

  39. alanjenn09 says

red light cameras are a scam it's an invitation of privacy it's dangerous people slam on their brakes to stop because of the cameras causing accidents it's a money making scheme and it needs to stop.

  40. Marco S says

So, in the USA, a red-light photo is also taken from the front. What if the driver's face can not be seen (who gets the fine)? And are red-light camera's good visible (big box)?

  41. Bryan michelle Capuyan says

what about yellow light the it turns red when i was already in the middle of intersection?

  42. BoilingHotCoffee says

I hate these things with a burning passion… purely a ploy to get money from you

The thing they got confused about traffic laws is… it's actually LEGAL to enter the intersection when the light is green or yellow…. but illegal to enter it on red…

The cameras only take a picture of you crossing the intersection as soon as it turns red…
that is stupid because you actually entered LEGALLY

  43. Micky says

    i like it!

  44. naruto sasuke says

what happens if you crossed the line on yellow but it immediately turns red before you cross the intersection

  45. Tony Iocca says

Before the development of the automated traffic signal a intelligent human would stand in the middle of the intersection and direct traffic by coordinating with other humans directing traffic all along the four directions relevant, in all types of weather. The replacement of humans with automated traffic signals that are "synchronized" and "scrutinized" by intelligent humans predicting traffic flow using the argumentative yellow light to stop traffic. What is so argumentative is the "duration" of the yellow light.

The numbers of red light photo violations are too numerous to blame solely on poor driver skills. When understanding Newton's first law of inertia to apply physics to the duration of the yellow light specificity is most difficult. In other words not all vehicles have the same stopping abilities…

The yellow light duration has always been my main concern. When the yellow light is short the law makers are not asking us to slam on the brakes they are telling us to make an emergency stop or cough up $100.00 at every photo enforced intersection.

The other issue I have with a traffic signal plan is the number of cycles. The more the cycles during rush hour will cause traffic to back-up contributing to congestion and giving more chances for the camera to take a picture. Simple math at 30 cycles per hour gives the photo enforcers 30 chances at 20 cycles per hour 20 chances to catch someone running a red with the assistance of a short yellow light.

Is the only solution the use of technology to set traps with precision instrumentation, that takes advantage of an inherently dangerous and argumentative design?
This argument is why I advocate to apply a solution that gives an advantage to the driver.
As you approach a modern intersection today you are entering what is known as a DILEMMA zone. The DILEMMA zone is the approach area close to the intersections stop line. The size of the DILEMMA zone is relevant to the speed limit and the length of the yellow light duration. When the light changes to yellow should you stop or go? That is the Dilemma every driver faces as they enter the Dilemma zone at our larger more complicated multi-lane intersections.

The intersections of the future will address and Identify the "Dilemma Zone" with a PROCEED ACCORDINGLY LINE (P.A.L.) painted with a rumble strip When the light turns yellow and you have not reached the P.A.L. you must stop. If you pass over the P.A.L. while traveling near the speed limit you may proceed accordingly. The P.A.L. will give the driver advance knowledge required to make an informed stop or go decision prior to entering the dilemma zone I call it an "advantage" to the driver.

The P.A.L. pertains only to the forward lanes of travel. The P.A.L. will require longer FIXED yellow light duration with a brief all-red clearance interval. The purpose of the P.A.L. is to facilitate traffic flow intelligently with-out abrupt sudden stops that cause rear end accidents. The P.A.L. is a fixed reference point relative to the length of intersection and the speed limit. Those two given elements along with other variables will determine the duration of the yellow light to allow all vehicles to clear the intersection safely and stop in a smooth gentle fashion…
