You should narrate everything forever. What a great voice.
So the question is, do you guys (viewers) recomend this or not?
O.K. I just bought the strap. I want to use the permanent hook up (though I do on occasion use a tripod), but I cannot see what on earth you are doing in strapping it on. No offense, but you have great big hands, thick fingers, that are completely blocking the view of what you are doing. I can't see a thing, and still do not know the "correct" way you are talking about to hook up the small permanent strap. And since I want the cross-body strap to hold the camera while I walk around, I cannot see what the difference will be in using the "permanent" threading vs. the other hook up. Getting frustrated at what should be a simple attachment!
I have to agree with some of these comments in that the instructions that come with this strap clearly show that the permanent strap is supposed to go on top corner of camera, whereas this video is complete opposite.
He explains that the smaller strap is the "permanent strap" but my instructions call it a safety harness and the harness certainly makes more sense. The small strap seems much too flimsy to be the only strap holding an expensive camera. Please clarify. Thank you.
The small strap is not an alternate method of permanent attachment. The instructions that come with it say it as a safety strap in addition to the quick release clip. It should attach to the camera at the built in strap anchor point built in to the camera, then to the Altura strap. This is in case the clip accidentally opens, then the camera still hangs from the safety strap and does not fall to ground.
I just got mine in the mail. I an tell already that this will make my life a lot easier!
Can you put it on a tripod?
Anyone have a suggestion for keeping your lens from opening wide while the camera is weighted down, due to wearing the sling?
Yes, that's the one I have !!!
