OnePlus 7 Pro Real World Camera Test

The OnePlus 7 Pro is officially out and available – it is a speed freak to be sure, with a spec sheet that is really great for the phone’s price point. But what about the cameras? Ahead of my final review of the phone, I take the phone out for a few days in New York City around launch event and to The Vessel. I have a lot of thoughts on the camera – and not all of them are great.

Thanks for watching my video – I think the camera of the OnePlus 7 Pro is certainly capable of good photos and some decent video (not really great audio, as you can tell) but it's more to do with the Sony IMX 48MP sensor than OnePlus' own additions to the triple camera system. In any case, let me know what you think about the camera quality. If you got the OnePlus 7 Pro today, did you have the same experience?

Love watching your videos, even when you're working at Android Authority
Terrible camera! Certainly not for that money.
Highlights are overblown in every photo and video
It's the same story every freaking release. OnePlus delivers a great software experience and strong bang for the buck, but their "Never Settle" needs to apply to their cameras as well. They need to poach engineers from Google, Huawei or even Samsung … Otherwise it's a no go for many of us. And dang, c'mon man, please fix the mic quality as well!
which color should I get?
Man, that ultradewide lens is SOO soft. I can't say I've seen a single GREAT shot from that camera from anybody. Kind of disappointed.
That microphone sounds rough 🙁
One thing wrong with this vid is you did not once complain about the fact that you can't use wide angle when shooting video…. SMH.
Hmm. Why is it most youtube vloggers think real people care about vlogging features? Most people just want a capable camera and don't care near as much about pro level video quality and certainly not front facing video.
If you don't like still shots, focus on that, but ive seen so many reviewers complaining about the video camera and essentially saying "well the phone is fine as long as you don't care about your camera". If video is a big deal we will use a pro camera. We just want to grab stills of our daily life and "home video" quick shots otherwise.
Photo is good. Better than most one plus phones. The video is so bad it's crazy.
Top top video you just get better with each one love the music too!!!
Say something I'm giving up on this phone, here we go, Joshua Vergara. I gave up, thank to you I think 1+ still needs a bigger room to improve it's camera department. Great phone for the price, but cameras are still a Nah…
Video is too long…🤨

Mic no Good
So far jittery video almost in every case with less than day light. also the noise is quite high but that can be accepted unlike the jitter.
also the front camera kinda makes your face looks like it was made of plastic or wax, I guess that is their beautification mixing with low light (aka not day light for OP) to give this effect. quite disappointing with a flagship price that they didn't improve their camera game.but again they couldn't include a headphone or a dongle too.
Weak camera, midrange level, at best!
Can a software update fix some of your concerns with the cameras? I'm not a big photo person, I'm more just point and shoot and hope for a good photo.
But I do agree the wide-angle lens should be able to be used in video mode
It's looking good. Some Sounds recorded was problem but decent. If anyone wants to better then this then take other professional camera. Thanks for video 🥰
Yeah! the cameras and mic are CRAP.
What was that bronze looking building you were in with all the staircases???
