Night Photography – Nightscapes and Trailing Lights
NEW: follow me on instagram –
If you are relatively new to the world of photography, night photography awaits!:) Night photography is a broad topic which can encompass various facets. This video covers nightscapes and trailing lights.
Night photography can be lots of fun and offer the ability to capture awesome shots! When going after trailing lights, remember to focus on the shutter speed … increase the shutter speed to introduce more lights into the frame.
NOTE: I use Back Button Focus which is a great to capture trailing lights … focus on something relatively lit – compose and shoot. BBF means the camera will not try to lock focus for each shot. If you are not familiar with BBF, I created a video here:
Awesome videos.. Thanks for emphasizing on entry level camera.. !!
Is it possible to capture just the taillights in the shots of the cars.
Marvellous photography & very very useful instructions for night photography. Sir, why the focusing mode is set to AF-C when you were taking photos of stationary objects like statutes, buildings etc. & reason for setting Exposure Compensation at -0.7 all along.
very helpful. will try this tomorrow night. wish i had a buddy to go with.
I like all you videos easy to understand. Thank you from Mexico.
Your night game is, strong 💪 bro!
Presented very well. Each shot had a description and gave me a good reference point. Thank you very much
Hello! What kind of tripod do you have? Thank you!
This has been not only one of the best videos I’ve seen on the subject but it taught me something that I didn’t even know about. The Meter! Great great video!
I really enjoyed the video and great photos. I'm curious however regarding the pictures with the flags. What settings would you have used if you wanted clear pictures of the flags?
Very clear instructions!

Bless the internet, for novices such as me, with a brand new D3500 camera, having not a great deal of an idea, this kind of video is a real bonus.. Cheers, excellent stuff.
The best practical tutorial I found on the subject. Thank you so much!
Very informative. 👌
thumbs up buddy…..very nice…very simple the way u teach us…
Wow, I never knew how the trailing lights thing worked and I always wondered what " meant. I thought it was inches rather than seconds but that didn't make any sense.
I appreciate it! Can't wait to try it.
What is fantastic video thank you very much and that is a wonderful teaching camera
Thank you sir! Great video!
What lense did you use?

Are you doing this with a shutter remote? Or
I find it incredible that after reading loads of articles about photography, that this one video explains to me exactly how to read and react to the exposure indicator on my D3300. No one else has ever even mentioned it. Can you believe that??!! So, many thanks to you for making my day!
What camera are you using! I use a Nikon D3400 myself!
Awesome, best video I have seen that effectively shows how aperture, ISO and exposure actually work together.
great video, thanks 🙂
AWESOME AWESOME tutorial, thanks a million!!
Why raw?
Love your videos, keep them coming. I own Nikon d3400 with the kit 18-55mm lens and 70-300mm lens love the camera.
Great video!
Which lens is used??
50mm prime lens??
I've watched a lot of tutors using only high end cameras to explain photography. But the fact that you use an entry level camera to eloquently present all the technical aspects makes your tutorials worth listening to. Thank you very much. You've earned a subscriber.
Great video and an exellent informations. Thanks for that. I think I must go to the night Niagara Falls now when the falls are illuminated to try to use your tips
Super super super
Wow! This is the best video where I learned how aperture, ISO and exposure actually work together. Thanks!
Your exposure compensation is set to -0.7 so the settings on your camera are not accurate.
