Vision Beyond the lens by Dale Kincaid
A initially learned photography as a kid shooting black & white then developing the photos in a dark room, that was a magical time and sparked my interest in photography. As I got older I dabbled in digital photography but wasn't until my kids were born that i really started to get an active interest back in it all.

To be honest it all starts with a good photograph but you turned it into a work of art! Using this for overcast skies is awesome or added interest in water just by adding a textured layer. Thanks for this awesome idea. I normally only do basic editing on my photographs for the most part but I'm trying to expand my photography into more fine art photography. One reason my health is bad so I was more of a wildlife photographer because of health issues I no longer have the ability to do that anymore. I can go back to my old photographs and transform them into something new just with adding textures. Thanks for the idea that I didn't think of.
Quite superb – what authoring package did you use to prepare the video ?
This video is an Inspiration for any photographer that wants to create art from photography. I have a question I see sometimes you blend the texture behind the photos and sometimes on top of the photo. Any rule for that or is just you are vision. Thanks in advance and continue this awesome work.
I too am new to using textures with photography. I recently went on a bus tour of the national parks. What textures would you recommend for hawks and owls and which for bison and antelopes? Thanks. Your video is amazing!
Very nice. I've been using textures lately, too. They add a different dimension. Can I ask where you get yours?
It is simply INCREDIBLE!!!!! Great Job!!!👍
Does someone know the name of the middle flower on 02:41 sec?
You add a whole new dimension to a photograph, transforming it into a work of art. This inspires me to experiment with my own creations, thanks for sharing.
Great tutorial. very inspiring .Great man
Wonderful video! Very inspiring! I also love how you take images that most people wouldn't want to keep and turn them into something amazing and beautiful. I am also a photographer and I'm getting ready to hopefully in about 2 years go full time into my art. Your video inspires me to just get out and photograph. Thanks so much for posting. Perfect at it's best!
Lovely Presentation!
I have only just come across this. Love your use of textures with your work Dale.
I couldn't have clicked on a different video if I'd wanted to… I was absolutely transfixed on this one. It's just amazing how you took a relatively ordinary photograph and turned it into something extraordinary. (NOT that your images are ordinary, but you get what I mean…) Beautiful! I so enjoyed watching this!
beautiful!
Do you sell downloadable online courses for this type of art photography I am just learning but I like your style. My wife is a floral designer and I would like to make art out of her designs. This would be nice to adapt this type of photography to her work. Beautiful work.
Dale – thank you for all the inspiration. I've just started using textures and I love some of the effects. Just seeing what you were doing with your images was very helpful.
Very nice – impressive – do you print your art / sell ? just curious – too nice to not be on walls.
Margaret K. – I would be happy to teach you. Message me.
Dear Dale …
would be my Teacher :)?
Maybe it is a silly question but if don't ask I will never learn anything.
I' ve never tried adding the texture before but I can't wait to learn and transform some of my images .
Your video left me breathless …
its been done perfectly .
All the Best …
Jaw dropping beautiful presentation ! This is how it is supposed to be presented. Well done !
Thanks Kathy. I appreciate that.
This is a great video, Dale. Thanks so much for taking the time and doing such a wonderful job showing us this process. I love your images.
Thanks Gil. I am glad the video helps and inspires.
Great display of the process. I use layering – textures often. I've started to use pretty much only my own personal textures I've produced to avoid the look of others and experiment a little as well.Nice video, thanks. It's helpful when trying to explain to new comers how it works.. Thanks I still tell them you have to start with a good photo either way and choosing the right textures is a skill and sometimes luck! Nice job !
