How to Create Wooden Engraved Photo Art

17 22

The ability to create incredible laser engraved photos from wooden panels will make unique works of art. You will be able to create small pieces for home decor or place multiple panels together for large amazing wall art.
Here we have cut and engraved a pre-finished cabinet grade birch plywood. The digital images were taken from a smartphone and processed through Kern’s Kcam software. The pre-finish allows for easy cleanup and adds value to the finished product.
This machine is a 52″ x 100″ work area using a 150 watt laser. Kern Laser Systems HSE series machines make engraving large photos a simple process.

Hi there, very impressive results! Could you maybe tell me what kind of foil that you use on the vacuum bed? I would like to try this with my machine. I have to much smoke escaping into my shop. This seems a good technique, but I don't want to use something that might catch fire. Thank you! Regards Glenn

    Hey,
Im using a 120w epilog fusion and cant even get it to vector through 1/4" craft plywood without burning its surface. Any tips for vector cutting 1/4" plywood as far as settings go?

Also, what raster power/speed are you using to get such good darks in your pictures above?
