This looks like a great idea , I think a comfortable mat on top of that ground sheet would make life more comfortable. However with my back and neck problems it would be a non starter ! I have even had to swith to lighter camera equipment so I can carry on taking photographs . So I would need one I could sit up in , I might look into it for use in my garden ;D Thank you for sharing this review 😀 Teddy

Great and very detailed review Paul! It's one of my favourite hides from Tragopan, the low angle has so far come in handy when I've been shooting black grouse on a lek and waders. I think you could have at least tried a magic spell to erect it though 😅

Thanks for the review. I've been looking at this hide. I've got a reasonable amount of experience using low hides that I've constructed out of tarps etc. There are some huge advantages to this type of hide, in the stuff will come much closer to a low hide than an upright hide, and the low angle you are shooting from. You need one of those self-inflating mattresses when it's cold or just for comfort. Yes you co get neck ache. However, I've found if you roll onto your side when nothing is happening you can get reasonably comfortable.
Brilliant, very flexible, could lay down a yoga mat quite light, it may help for long stays. Many Thanks Paul.

It’s a good hide I have had mine for a few months. Waterproof is good I found if you don’t really seal the front window up then it leaks in a bit but the rest is very good. Worth the money. I’m thinking of getting the bigger tragopan one. It’s setting the way forward for hides.

It looks a bit of a specialist hide and not what you’d use on most occasions like your other one. I can see circumstances when you’d want to be low, on the coast, rutting season etc, but I can’t see the advantage over camouflaged netting though I can see disadvantages like not being able to change position. I'm sure one where you can sit comfortably will always be the first choice. I think only one portal for the camera is extremely limiting compared to the netting, as would the length of time an asked bodied person could use it. For most of us with a physical disability that would be zero.

I like the taller version myself I use it as a tent also. I did a review on mine. I take my German Shepherd with me and shes in it with me laying down while I take photos. Amazing she is laying down and I am taking photos deer.
