9 28

This is tutorial on how to take a family portrait using WiFi where you (the photographer) are in the photo. We go over composition, settings and how to set up your Olympus OMD camera’s WiFi as a remote trigger.

Family Photo Life is a new series for my channel dedicated to parents all about how to make better images of our adventures as families. It will serve as a photography 101 course as well but bent around assignments and images that parents want to make. I hope you’ll join us and become part of a new community where we can help one another! Please tell friends or family that might also want to learn along with us.

Hi Joseph! I noticed in a couple of your more recent videos that you have a little furry object on your shirt 🙂 Are you using a wireless lavalier mic? If so, which one are you using? You have good sound quality on your videos. Keep up the great work!

Thanks for making a series that is oriented toward family needs. I appreciate the simple tips such as varying head heights, be it triangle or other. Also, I have used OI Share app but didn’t know I could change from live view to simple trigger!

I was thinking they added Bluetooth to mark3 and could make the connection easier w/o messing with WiFi. Does it have Bluetooth and what does it allow?
Nice videos I’m interested in your archiving recommendations

Joseph, what a great tutorial. Thank you so much.PS: Yesterday I spoke with Olympus representative and told him about you, I feel that you should be the "visionary" for them. The current ones do very little for us the end users and armatures. I am learning a lot from your tutorials.Thank you …  again.

I'm loving these tips, especially those on framing and composition! One small remark/question: could you not put in the music when you are working with your subjects? I think it can be interesting to hear a professional doing his work with his family! Thanks for all these videos!

Great video. Once you get the hang of it the OI Share app is really useful. I like using it for landscapes where you're waiting for the clouds, sun, waves etc. It's great that Olympus puts WiFi in all their m43 bodies (even my Stylus XZ-10 can use WiFi with a Flashair card!). Y
