Introduction to Senior Photography – Business of Senior Photography with Sal Cincotta

10 23

This workshop is available now!

Sal Cincotta has a “take no prisoners” approach to the business of high-school senior photography. In this workshop he’ll dig into marketing plans, business plans, pricing, and packaging. Sal will also show how to create an ambassador program so that your kids are talking about you and selling you in their schools.

We’ll lead a series of live in-studio and on-location photo fashion shoots, because that’s ultimately what these kids want. You can’t ignore the high school market. Seniors become brides and brides become long-term family clients.

When you shoot seniors for the yearbook, how do you adjust the specs in CS6?

For example, our high school hands out a spec sheet to all the parents just in case they don't go to the portrait studio that has a lock on photographing all our seniors. The spec sheet says that when we submit the senior photo for the yearbook it must be as follows: Diecut size 1 5/8" x 2 3/16". Head size must be 1 1/8" (from top of the head to the bottom of the chin). Then is goes on to say what color background will be accepted. I took several senior photos for the yearbook this year, don't know how to efficiently process them to get the head size to the 1 1/8", then I can crop the photo to the right size.

This was a great video. Very helpful! I have a question. Toward the end, when Sal is talking about offering the family session for free, how is that presented to them? Is it when they buy the package and they know from the beginning that they get a free session along with the senior session? Or is it after the session and then they are told they get a free family session?

I've done quite a few senior portrait sessions which my clients love, (See some at SPiCEphoto com) I even have one who came back to me to cover her wedding! But I've been stumbling when it comes to the marketing & sales. As much as I hate to spend money, I'm going to have to purchase this product. Thanks CL & Sal.
