1:58 You're messing up two different speeds…Shockwaves start to develop at certain TAS(true airspeed; speed the aircraft is moving through the air), but you're talking about GS(ground speed;speed the airplane is moving relative to ground)

Very interesting, but there is an error in the narration ( though not in the graphic) at 1.15. He describes the jet stream winds as Easterly. But they are Westerly, because winds are named after the direction they're blowing FROM, not TOWARDS- so winds blowing from the USA towards Europe are definitely Westerly winds.

Jet fuel only costs $1.89 a GALLON?? Shit that's cheaper than gas for my car lol! It's almost twice that now! I have lived in flight paths for a long time. Where I'm at now and my last apartment, the planes are less than 1,000 ft up. It's crazy because years ago, I started noticing as the sun is setting I can see the headlights coming all in a line. It's so interesting to watch. They usually fly over about every 5 minutes or so. Once, I kept hearing them over and over and went outside and saw about every 60 seconds another jet flying overhead! I only saw that once with THAT many. I've been watching for years. Literally highways in the sky. Very cool. I love outside of Chicago by the way, in Northwest Indiana but it's still considered Chicagoland. We be Chicago weather, news, TV, radio, even Chicago time.
