A initially learned photography as a kid shooting black & white then developing the photos in a dark room, that was a magical time and sparked my interest in photography. As I got older I dabbled in digital photography but wasn't until my kids were born that i really started to get an active interest back in it all.

Maybe it's just me being a whippersnapper but Charlie looks to me like something out of Modern Toss. The way he moves fascinates me. Green screened puppet or something?
As watched by stunted, radioactive kids, 13 years after the Bomb drops, on a broken Ferguson Videostar in a ruined school. I can never look at the intro the same way since seeing 'Threads'!
Pleasant memories of my primary school days👍
7.38 mins in… 36.2p per Litre of petrol!
At least 5 traffic violations, and a pop up lollipop lady hehe
Charlie appears to be 'standing' at a completely different crossing to the one at which the vehicles are filmed! Still, an all-time great schools programme.
Notice Vicky's gorgeous red knee-high boots? How typically 1980's(!)
GEEBUS! I forgot how TERRIFYING charlie looked! What the heck even IS he?!!
I can't believe I found this! – This was me….. 29 Years ago…
Awww 🙂
thought WOrds and Pictures had "The Magic Pen"?
A lot of love went into that title sequence.
Just noticed the animation error on the first set of pictures. One comes in early and flicks out again
Theme composer Paddy Kingsland also did Michael Palin's Around the World in 80 Days, fact fans!
do you have many words & pictures on VHS? i had loads but the vcr recently chewed them all up!! crappy funai thing
I preferred Henry Woolf
aaaw no magic pencil with this lolipop lady but i', sure they dio do one at one point
I used to love Charlie on this! I loved this version of Words and Pictures. Better than Sophie Aldred's version.
Long Distance Clara's twin sister as the animated Lollipop Lady.
