SHIPWRECKED! Bridal shoot in an abandoned shipwreck in Aruba in the Caribbean with Jason Lanier
Join award winning photographer Jason Lanier for an adventure you’ll never forget. PLEASE THUMBS UP AND SUBSCRIBE! While out in Aruba for a destination wedding, Jason took an extra day to do a bridal shoot in an abandoned shipwreck off the coast. Risking injury, jellyfish and more, Jason and his team ventured into the old barge and did a shoot with underwater cameras as well as regular still cameras with no underwater protection. This video was shot in June of 2014, shortly before Jason started shooting exclusively with Sony. in this shoot you’ll see Jason using the Nikon D800, and the Canon G1X with underwater housing.
The entire shoot was completed with natural lighting and the team shot inside and outside of the ship. Given the dangerous nature of the shoot Jason’s best bud and fellow photographer Vanden ended up in the Emergency Room with coral stuck in his foot. This is the kind of shoot you’ll rarely see, and we’re so grateful we were able to share it all with you!
The image at 15.30 was stunning !
That shoot looked very difficult. You have achieved success through hard work Jason. A lesson for us all.
Jason I follow you from Italy. very often. I just took the tokens 16-28 you used in these photos. I wanted to know your opinion as you are very experienced. Thank you very much
I so love your shoots like this and in abandoned buildings.
I notice that when Jason is still shooting with Nikon, there's always some kind of warning in the beginning of the video (0:32). I don't really care what camera Jason is using. I'm sure he can get a good shot even with a very cheap camera, because he understands how to get a good shot.
What bothers me, the warning that he was still using Nikon is as if the latest videos shooting with Sony is just like Sony ads. So stop reminding the viewers when Jason switched to Sony.
I'm now finally watching this video. Sorry about your lost.
I'm embarrass of how they treated VK at the hospital, cause I'm from Aruba but I'm living on St. Maarten (Which you should pass through sometime). I wish I could afford a workshop or find a group of people that's will to help pay.
I hope that the visit to the hospital won't be the reason for you not to visit AUA again.
Loving all your videos, lessons, advises and so much more.
I'm a Nikon D800 shooter and just HOLD a Sony a7s (or ii) and just LOVED how light it was. I'm looking into buying it and see what happens in the future.
Keep up the Good Work… thumbs up thumbs up
I am truly enjoying every video thus far. By any chance, while shooting in the full sun, did you use any ND filters?
Awesome 👍
awesome idea Jason
and no way in hell going to a hospital in Aruba lol
very interesting. good job.
Awesome photos +jasonlanier. The coral incident did make good footage.
great shoot!
2 days ago my fiance had chestpain, we went to the emergency and waited for 4 hours. We then found out we had to wait 4 more before any doctor would be able to tend to her.
I live in Stockholm, Sweden and pay 32% tax for "free medical services". Yes Jason, there are defiantly bad hospitals around the globe.
Phenomenal! Epic shots! Fabulous model.
anyone else see a lions face in the rust at 11.54 on right hand side through the door way ? great shoot by the way
This deserves the definition of 'Epic'! Beautiful bride and awesome images!
Jason Lanier, congratulations … just beautiful, wonderful. I'm a fan of his work and admire him a lot. You do not know, but you are my teacher. I have learned a lot watching your videos. I am a beginner and have many difficulties. Only miss of information Iso, Speed and Aperture. For those starting this information is important. We are talking physically distant (I live in Brazil), but receives a big hug with all due respect. Thank you so much for everything.
Success!
I will love to attend your workshop
if you near Charleston South Carolina
thank God for our NHS…… before it is wrecked and we follow you……
How about a Fukishima shoot!!!! that would be "fabulous"! You could all wear little tin foil hats…. that would be a great shoot. lol…. that model looks like a drowned rat.
phenomenal art ~ nice work Jason.
I have to say, she's not very photogenic. She's obviously attractive, but the camera isn't overly fond of her look. If it were a different photographer I would say you didn't use the right focal length/ angle for this model. But I know Jason can shoot his ass off, and it's very unlikely this wasn't his fault. Not everyone is photogenic, and this girl is a perfect example of that.
thats awesome, love shoots like that. sweet
Man your talent is amazing! I hope I'm able to do one of your workshops!
Super Super cool! How many tetanus were needed after this?
Amazing images in trying conditions – hard core
Good luck with that foot , Outside the U.S and not on a Military installation you are screwed. That Doc was an A-Hole. I would have paid him his 315 in F*** pennies
Amazing shoot one of my favorite's you all got quite a workout. And big props to the model. Bet you all slept well that night had to be exhausted.
Insane on many levels!
