Bride to Be in China Stops Wedding Shoot to give CPR to Stranger
Nurse stops her wedding photo shoot to give CPR to drowning man on Dalian beach, winning netizens’ admiration.
Guo Yuanyuan, a happy 25-year old bride-to-be, was posing for a photo when she noticed a drowning man being laid down on the beach. The man had suffered a sudden heart attack while swimming. Guo rushed to assist the stranger and performed CPR on him while waiting for paramedics to arrive. An ambulance made it to the beach some 20 minutes later. However, neither Guo or the doctors were able to save the man’s life.
Even though the attempt was fruitless (i.e. the man died), her efforts have won her great admiration from Chinese netizens.
It turns out that Ms Guo Yuanyuan was a cardiac nurse at a local hospital. Obviously, she was not on duty that day. The wedding photo shoot of a bride is a very important and significant milestone in her life. Yet, witnesses say that when the event occurred, Ms Guo rushed to the aid of this man, without any hesitation whatsoever, while still wearing her wedding gown. It looked like all her life-saving instincts came into play.
She proceeded to perform CPR on the man, as well as give him the ‘kiss-of-life’ for over 20 minutes. In the process, she ruined her wedding dress, spoilt her make-up and broke her nails.
What a lady! She deserves our respect, at the very least.
