Webinar: Fast and Safe Portrait Studio Setup
Learn more:
Join Jason Friedman as he shows you how to set-up a multi-light studio portrait session safely and quickly using Kupo’s innovative, precision crafted grip equipment. In this webinar you will learn how grip equipment is used to rig a one, two and three light setup, four background lights and a seamless background to achieve two different types of portrait lighting. Afterwards it will be clear how grip equipment can benefit you as a still photographer, and as you transition into a moving image maker or a combination of the two as the portrait lighting styles and the equipment used to achieve them are equally applicable to both disciplines.
Grip equipment consists of light stands and specialized hardware that allows you to mount cameras, lighting equipment and accessories virtually anywhere. When it comes to rigging cameras and lighting, the same tools are used by both photographers and filmmakers alike. Of course each industry has specialized tools for their craft such as strobes for still photography and dollies for smooth camera movements in cinematography, but the huge variety of grip gear that filmmakers have been using for decades such as clamps, adapters, stands, light control, booms and arms are found in professional photography studios worldwide.
Especially now, with the evolution of the DSLR and its amazing video capabilities, investing in grip equipment is an obvious choice for any imaging professional.
The woman looks bored, must be hard not to be able to understand what the photographer is explaining. Every video Ive observed, its always a clueless, bore minded gal jajajaja
nice video, esp. if you focus on the grip parts alone, as 1/2 way through the light tutorial the finished images are missing?? also would be nice to include a link about the gear used (and prices of the pieces used) as knowing who this studio set-up is designed for, whether beginner or expert photographer, would help in deciding whether the gear shown is any good for your particular type of photography.
I really don't care if there's result images i watched this tutorial focusing on the grip! Excellent video!
great looking stand, shame about the photographer… metered at F10 then used F8 ! Why bother metering if you don't use what it says ?. Then in the rembrandt section, he took 3 shots, said let's wait for those to come in… Don't know what software he was using, but the three shots you showed she had three different dresses and her hair was magically tied up… So if you lie about the shots are you also lying about the stands ? Let yourselves down badly there I'm afraid… Next
Interesting tutorial, but still no sample images to see whats actually being achieved by the changes in lighting. Are there any plans to edit this ?
what's the weight of this C stand? thanks!
Yes in this recorded version of the live video there are no sample images. I believe in the actual live broadcast there were samples shown (but my memory may be wrong on that).
Kupo needs to edit the video here to include sample images.
Tutorial is crap. Basically saying that you're going to show the images but you don't…how crappy can that be?
