Why pay an accountant and a financial advisor? Save that money by figuring out your taxes and such yourself in about an hour and a half during a Sat or Sun, it isn't that hard, everything can be a percentage of each job and you can tell at a glance how it is going, it is called setting up an excel spread sheet.

I have a fireproof safe that I keep locked in the closet with envelopes labeled for what is needed such as car repair, dental, etc. Each category has an envelope and when I get paid for a job I divide it up between all the envelopes. So when I need to do something I pay it by the cash I get out of that particular envelope or deposit just that amount and then write a check. A trick taught by Dave Ramsey.

from what I gather, one of the most common and expensive mistakes people make is getting married because, as young as i am, everyone I know has an ex, and stepsons and additional expenses because of that. But then again, if people didnt get married, susan would not have a job. Tricky world.

I recently left my full-time job and the one thing I was sure to do was buy what I needed and pay cash so 1. I have gear that is new and should last, I shouldn't need to purchase anything in the near future. 2. no monthly payments to credit cards or what not. BEST thing I could have done because in Arizona where I live, summer can be super slow.

I think demographics play a HUGE part in this. Places like NYC, DC, Los Angeles – know that to get quality images you have to pay a premium. They do not skate because of money.  Then you have places like where i live here in South MS… well they all want free photo sessions or at worse (in their eyes) pay no more than $250.00.
I pay for Facebook ads, im paying for an ad in a local Magazine that is seen by not only locals but tourists alike and i continually advertise on local facebook groups as well (like online yard sales, flea markets etc).  However, they still would rather get cheesy shots from Aunt Sally or Uncle Bob so they wont have to pay alot.  However, i love this video and refer to it continually as it is a great source of information.
    Cheers

I'm in no way near her level in photography and I couldn't ever charge so much here where I live, but still educational to hear her side

  19. J. Panama says

The reality about this lady she's marketing to a specific group of people, here in NYC not everyone have $10,000 to throw away on a photo shoot when they can go to uncle Bob or the next guy on the post below that charges $2,600 but God bless this woman for sharing this on Youtube she's brave for giving so much of herself.

  20. cowsrock1q says

Of course she can charge that MUCH because she lives in New York…most people cannot afford that in America!!
