That comment about the prices of cameras back in the 70s brought back memories of my first camera purchases. I had started out with a Yeshica Electro 35 in 1969 which I had bought for around $100 and was looking to upgrade in the mid 70s. I was introduced to a Leica by a buddy of mine, he had bought his through the Army PX, but it was priced way out of my reach. I ultimately settled on the Nikkormat FTN with the 50mm f1.7 which came in at less than half of the Leica body price at that time. I still have the Nikkormat, it's a tank.
Good talk. Nostalgia. I used to read those two magazines in the early seventies. Do you know if any of those older magazines are available on the Internet? I have looked for them but cannot find any consistent source.
