FAQ
Q) Can you record and charge at the same time.
A) Yes – I can’t remember any camera I’ve tested in the last 5 years that won’t let you do this. See 06:40 for a mention of this as well.

  16. pointer2null says

Now seemingly permanently out of stock.

  17. CPU UK says

My Prism tube broke, Senna can’t fix, they have been out of stock all year, they aren’t expecting any in until Aug/ Sept… so what is your ‘plan B’ choice of helmet cam?

  18. A I says

    great review sir!

  19. John Keckley says

Looks like it's very slow to start recording, about 5 seconds.

  20. mspenrice says

Dammit, looks like it's discontinued. Went to see what the current price might be (as this certainly sounds like it would be up my alley, doing the same as a Contour but cheaper), but Amazon says it's not available and they don't know when it'll be back in stock…

  21. John Smith says

Best review so far, great job and thank you for the info.

    Really good quality video

  23. bullet906 says

Which micro SD are you using?

  24. czerwonadupa says

Do you know if your favourite helmet camera the Sena Prism is being replaced because it seems the PT10-01 or 4.0 you reviewed is now unavailable in the UK & Europe including Sena's own European website?

  25. notwocdivad says

Ho TM. Ire watched an older video in which you tested the wired helmet camera, at the time it was just what you wanted. Now I fancied a wired setup too but now you have got me wondering again. So which one of the two do you think is the better option in your opinion? Cheers Dave

  26. Asif Ali says

    It's price?

  27. Professor cbX says

Excellent review. Answered all quetions but one…is there any specific sd card brand Sena recommends or says to avoid?

  28. leosedf says

btw 4 months after i got the camera i realized the battery doesn't last a lot. Infact i checked it with a pro battery analyzer i have at the lab and it seems there is only 33% capacity on the battery. I didn't even used it much. SENA's customer support is pure crap, they didn't even have the battery as a spare and claim replacement of the whole camera is the only option and amazon doesn't give me the option for a warranty repair for some reason. I finally found some similar cells (difficult because the size is specific) and i will probably replace it on my own.

  29. Dylan Dylan says

    all action camera problem is battery all need to charge just remove and replace the battery ????; – {{

  30. Sam Ross says

As usual a great job at explaining the camera. I would like to see you make a video of how you take footage from the camera and edit it to make up a short movie!!

  31. Aigaro says

If only image stabilization will be on senna… it would be perfect camera.

  32. So Quack says

The sena prism tube now only last 15 mins. Its crap overtime the battery life just gets worse.

  33. Cloudmaker says

Great review, glad i stayed to the end for the puppet show.

  34. Afan Pašalić says

I use Contour while riding because I ALWAYS know if the camera is on or off. Great camera. Although, I use it on the top of my helmet because I'm not big fan of "side view". So I wonder how hard is to position the camera holder to the top of a helmet?
Also, Is it possible to charge the camera and record at the same time, while riding?

  35. Paddy says

I want to use this on my flat cap…. Is that legal?

  36. Steve Barrett says

Hey technoman always enjoy the reviews I need a bullet shape helmet cam 4k what do you think is best option thanks

  37. AussieAnnihilation says

id love some advice if anyone has the same camera.

I just bought one and had the same issue not being able to connect it to my PC, i inserted the card into my computers SD slot instead, downloaded the firmware etc, but whenever i turn the camera on all i get is alternate red and blue flashing on the LED, tried formatting and using the reset button… cant get it to record anything.

  38. Landon Ashby says

Excellent Review and appears to be exactly what I'm looking for. Thank You! I do have a question. If you have a traffic incident or what not can the SD card be reviewed on something like a cell phone with an SD slot or would it have to be done on a computer later?

  39. Jack says

    Battery Life ?

  40. Craig Gardner says

This review was exactly what I was looking for: thorough and honest, with a definite understanding of what people want to know. Brilliant job, you've gained a subscriber and a like.

  41. INNOVV says

Like your vid, always showing a detailed and good review. Thx

  42. may crotch says

What is the best micro sd card for this camera and does the mb/s read and write speed make a difference?

  43. Spikey Mikey says

I also own the Sena action camera… although I find camera easy to operate and just as easy to mount to a motorcycle helmet, The camera itself is not water resistant. I have attempted to operate the camera in light rain while I was riding. On both occasions moisture got into the camera and the lens fogged up. It should be noted that the screw on cap at the rear of the camera was attached not the microphone attachment. I personally was very disappointed with this camera it’s promised so much but was let down by the lack of waterproofing.

  44. Yutani says

But the SENA ha no Image Stabilisation right? This is a big disadvantage for me.

  45. Jeff Pyper says

    Another whisky run! Hahaha

  46. pointer2null says

End of the Contour Roam (with it's reliance on the discontinued/unsafe Apple Quicktime)?

  47. K Khalifah says

Wait… does it mean that I have to unplug the rear end and charge this cam every day for commuting use?

  48. Nick Norris says

Thank you as always for your reviews, very useful for us all. Do you know which helmet camera has the longest life or easily replaceable batteries for recording while touring by bike with the quality video as well I have been going round in circle trying to review them all

  49. Rami Sabeh says

@Technomoan Can you please link a purchase site to your helmet or any similar large visor helmet ? I couldn't find it on Schubert website 🙂 Thank you

  50. MintyAnt says

A bit sad to see the Contour mount be replaced! I bought my contour 2 then 3 for my Bicycle after watching your reviews, and they've worked pretty fantastically for several years. Thanks for that insight 🙂
Recently the Contour mount, or the mount on the camera, has begun failing. The camera more easily slides out, and replacements are close to $50, so it's close to replacement time. This camera looks close to perfect for my needs, thanks.

    Two questions:
    – You may have mentioned, but what about angling the camera left/right? The contour just turns the camera itself to level the horizon, does this camera rely on the mount to achieve the same?
    – How has it performed in the rain so far since this video? I've got a vid where I got caught in a downpour with my contour, and it performs decently (if I remember to wipe the lens every once in awhile).
