Hi guys! What editing software would you recommend (windows 10 PC) for a guy like me who's tech savvy but a complete novice with video editing? Appreciate it!
Now that the gopro hero 7 comes with the insanely great hypersmooth stabilzation, you don’t have to bring a gimbal anymore which saves even more space. I love the sony rx100 series, but i hope the next one(the rx100vii) finally gets an external mic jack! Then it’d be the perfect travel vlogging cam. Another thing i have added to my travel kit is the insta360 one x. Although not essential, it adds incredible 360 shooting to your kit and doesnt take up much room in your bag at all. Editing on an ipad pro with luma fusion takes up less space than a laptop when on the road too. 👍🏼

Instead of nar box if you have an Android phone just use USB otg to a 2.5" drive.
First of all, the alpha series aren’t dslr. Secondly, most of your equipment cost “the voyage” itself.
By the way, filming in 4K it’s not necessary. While in 2018, 80% of people still watch videos on 1080 Full hd. 4k platform is still expensive. So even for gopro, the hero 3 black can handle a trip. No need to rush and buy a hero 5/6 ….

Or just get a Yi4k+ for the price of Hero 4 to shoot 4k@60fps to your heart's content, amazon kit of 10 buck mounts and a vimble stabiliser for 100. Go pros ARE in fact OVERRATED. You can get Yi4k+ and a Yuneec Breeze drone for the price of GoPro6. Or get an action cam, a cheap non-camera oriented drone, rig a gimble for your action cam to the drone and voila – swimming, flying 4k.

My favorite action cam is the Sony FDR-X3000. Sold my GoPro when I got it.
Dude I have all the gear, even better ones that they mentioned but still feel stuck. I don't know anybody that is into videos and filmmaking and only watching Youtube videos are not really taking me anywhere =( . Wish I could know what should be my next step (I traveled to over 40 countries, etc so getting out of my zone is not really a problem, just don't know how to make photography, etc my career).
Almost one year on and this is defs still one of the best Essentials videos out there. I'm not sure if i would personally invest in the Gnarbox though as I have a very light/thin laptop but i'm sure it would come in handy for some people!

Great video. Just a correction….All those "dslr" cameras you mentioned aren't dslr, but rather they are mirrorless. Except the canon t3i.
