Ever wanted to be like Jacques Cousteau?
Bringing back underwater photos a few decades ago was a lot harder than it is today. You’d need a custom-built housing for your camera, a huge supply of film, and the discipline to not shoot all your frames within the first ten minutes of your dive.
Today even basic point-and-shoot underwater cameras are capable of being fitted with underwater cases complete with flashes, allowing you to get started with shooting underwater for less than a few hundred dollars.
In this video I’ll walk you though the basics of getting your camera set up for shooting into the deep blue–whether that means the Pacific Ocean or your neighborhood swimming pool. We’ll also cover some of the basics of how shooting underwater is so much different than shooting above the surface (4 minutes, 24 seconds).

What kind of housing would I need to buy for a PowerShot SX150 IS? I am unable to find anything thing that says it will fit that specific camera. This is more than just a hobby for me as I'm a photography student so maybe you suggest a different camera altogether?
Hi dude…i like your videos. I do a lot of snorkeling around Victoria, Australia and was looking into getting into underwater photography but thought it was too expensive. This video has taught me you don't need lots of money to start underwater photography and might just be the inspiration i need. Thanks heaps!
