I hate how you keep trying to make it seem like that teacher was discriminating against just him, that was literally a time where no african american's in the country would have been encouraged to seek higher education, it just didn't happen, it was a different time.
The day CHELSEA gets her own channel is the day TONY losses all his followers….Here for CHELSEA…..just saying
How the hell would you know?
I showed a colleague of mine some of my photos, and she asked if I'd be willing to take professional portraits of her. Right now I don't, cause I'm busy, but I also was thinking "how much should I charge?" given that I've never done this before. But even if I don't charge (much) for my quality, I will charge for my time. Because I would be putting time into it, for both photographing and editing. And maybe expenses, if there would be any (travel, renting gear, etc). So I think that's a fair deal to start with.
To transcend something, you must first master it.
Clive Butcher. His wide angle black and whites are amazing and his work to show case the Florida Everglades are fantastic. I look forward to learning about more about these other ones you mentioned I didn’t know about.
I love your videos but traits are innate and not learned, Thanks!
Their point about specializing in something is absolutely correct. Your 'look' will become your 'brand', which is what people will seek you out for. If your 'look' is good but all over the place, no one will know what it is they're gonna get. Your look is your product, and your product needs to be easily identifiable. That's why when someone says "give me a Peter Hurley", you know exactly what look, lighting, cropping, pose, and gear you need to do it.
In beginner photography forums all I see is "what's the best camera?" "what's the best lens?" etc. The vision comes first, and the gear is your means to achieve your vision. Plus it's almost always the LIGHTING and composition that really matters, and not your lens or camera.
yeah i'm just working on the energy to get the raw files off my card
Really good material hope you like ours! Have a look our post and help us aand subscribe too!❤️😄
How do I make money on photos ,can I sale photos on square space or some other way because I don't know.
Great video guys really enjoyed it.
My takeaway from this is that being a great photographer doesn't sound like fun!… I'll just keep shooting whatever I feel like whenever I want, just for the love of the process
I don't think Adams did his own printing if I am remembering correctly.
i feel like i am watching the same podcast everytime. How many times have i heard "ansel adams actually did do alot of post" on this podcast. Idk but it is a lot
Great vid. To me the famous photographers I am aware of gained their fame through journalistic oppurtunity, and / or artistic skill. Patience, persistance, technical skill,
artistic sense and as I mentioned oppurtunity are important attributes.
Eugene Smith died broke. Leibowitz lives like a Queen. There's no justice.
Tony and Chelsea I am working with the photos of a wedding and at the same time listening to you. You are great a share so much knowdge that oh my Lord! How great it makes you and makes your chanel. My congratulations and thaks.
Can you do a comparison of New Sigma lenses Sigma 70-200 Compared to Nikon 70-200 2.8E and the new Sigma 60-600 Sport to Sigma 150-600 Sport Lenses
True but you find these traits in anyone who is successful in a career. The thing that got me thinking is that in the past, you would be "discovered" as a photographer for having a good eye. It doesn't happen any more. There are too many photos out there and people have become very subjective about what a good photo is. A lot of good photography is just too "quiet" to make it on Instagram or in the market place.
super inspirational moment taken away in minute 8:22 "pictures for fun"
@14:50 OK, PRAY TELL, what did you tell Tony after the recording? I gotta know! 😉
You two are awesome, was just feeling impatient at my gear and skills. Thanks so much
as usual thanks for sharing so much great content with us
always a pleasure to watch great videos like this!
Curiosity is a trait of great photography and about Chelsea Northrup… Curious that Tony wears a wedding ring and Chelsea hardly ever does, like in this video. Usually the other way around with men and women. Usually the guy doesn't. There is my Curiosity of the day.
What about Jared Polin? Isn't shooting Raw a trait of great photogs?
Pablo loved his Leica too.
Love you guys.
Great video Tony in Chelsea, it would be great if you list those names of those famous photographers in the description thanks
Gordon Parks was one of the greats, don't see him mentioned a lot, but should be. Great video guys!
What's with 2 ads before the video now?
Loved It!
Still watching the video but read through comments for a second. So just gonna say, NO they are not an entirely gear oriented channel. They are an educational channel if anything and they cover both the art and the tech of photography, always have. So for those of you complaining about how they are all about the gear…have you been living under a rock? There have been so many cameras revealed in the last year its remarkable that they have even kept up! Of course there are lots of gear vids right now there has been a lot of gear released in the same small span of time. So get over yourselves, be PATIENT ( yes I know you aren't but its a life skill you may want to learn) and just enjoy and listen to the videos, take what you can from them, and stop complaining about things. If its really that bad then start your own channel. Otherwise be constructive and instead of just complaining about how many gear videos there are, ask them to do a specific training/art video such as how to take city skyline photos, how to make the most of Golden Hour, An hour in the life of a famous photographer, the art of irregular compositions, etc. BE CONSTRUCTIVE.
Tony, Chelsea I think yall have the best photography channel out there. I know I can depend on yall to give me a good accurate review on gear from your perspective. Also I look forward to your podcasts, tutorials, and all the rest of your videos. Keep doing what yall are doing and "Never give up, never surrender".
Thank you for another fantastic upload, really appreciate the effort you put into these videos Tony and Chelsea.
never give up and have purpose in photography
I do photography for me. It's something I do to escape work and have fun with something I love to do. If I try and make it a business and make money, somehow it makes it "work" for me and I lose the joy. I have done a few paid jobs and I feel stress and don't look forward to it. I like to just be free. I would however, someday like to be in an art fair and sell photographs I've already shot.
I was with you all the way until the final point.
I work a non-photography day job to pay my bills (I'm typing this comment while I'm at work) and practice photography on the side. If I was relying on photography to pay my bills then I'd probably have to work twice as hard as I work in my current job, shooting things I don't really care to shoot and be less inclined to shoot my own work once I'm done with my clients' stuff.
