I have to give it to you Karl. I am learning photography mainly on YT and watch tons of videos . Perhaps your videos are not so cute or entertaining like Tony Northup, Matt Garnger or Jason Lanier but you always really nice and in appropriate way lecture about basics and understanding of principals of photography. Many photographers running YT channels are experts. Tony Northup even have this magnificent gift of explaining problems in full length and what I mean by this is that he can actually through his advanced empathy talk about problems not directly related to the issue video is about but problems arising in the process of thinking about an issue his video is talking about. It is really like he is a teacher but in same moment he just know how recipient of his video think and where recipient thoughts are drifting. Even Tony however don not have this true teaching skill you posses. Skill which I think comes only from talent because i dont think there are schools 😀 for teaching how to be a good teacher.
This is a very special skill and it is characteristic only to faculty of professors at university (professors). When you speak and the problem you do not explaining it in basics on a level like/when you speak to child but explaining basic of problem like you talking to a thinking student. This is very inspiring because in this process of teaching, my thoughts are not drifting away to discover problem related directly to an issue you talk about. Instead my thoughts are driven to visualise the problem, understand solution you talk about and applying it to the problem. It is very pleasant, feels creative and help me to concentrate instead of drift away and I only get this watching your videos Karl. Perhaps you should think about academic teaching. You certainly have a great gift! Sorry for my English its not my first language.
