How to talk to Strangers: Portrait and Street Photography Lessons from Adam Marelli
Photographer Adam Marelli shares tips on how to photograph strangers, how to work in foreign countries, and how the lessons of master painters can reveal secrets about photographing people.
I learned A LOT watching this video! I'm in love now with all your tutorials. Gratefully, I'm finding my way much better and easier in photography. Thanks Adam Marelli
You pointed out in one of the paintings that the guys legs were missing, also in the painting of the two people in the cafe (1:02:10), the tables have no table legs
Great lecture.
I've learned a LOT from your talks. Great practical advice. Loved all the painting inspiration. Thank you so much for uploading them!
This is phenomenal content +Adam Marelli. Have you looked into the concepts of deliberate practice (Anders Erickson) much? I've been looking at some sort of set of principles for photography that deliberate practice could be applied to. Your list here is the jackpot for this, in my mind.
25:00.
This makes absolute sense to me. The bit about leaving the camera at home is really true, I always have my camera but went out in a hurry one day and forgot to take it. All I could see all day were pictures that I missed.
The best tutorial on Street Photography I've found. I appreciate the insight Adam!
Thanks Adam. I enjoyed this video. I was stuck with my photography. I was not going anywhere. I felt that my photos were lifeless. I was not able to find the way forward. Your this video and the other video about Bringing the gap, has brought back that excitement. I also happen to watch your preview videos from your series "a room for improvement". I am damn sure I will take that course. Thanks for showing the way forward. Greatly appreciate it.
thank you!
Great video Adam! I enjoyed it a lot!
Wow…this guy is quite refreshing.!
Most photographers that I Watch/See on Youtube, all seem to fancy themselves as "artists" …..that are struggling against the odds to "Express Themselves"…..battling a creative angst that only a chosen few can possibly comprehend. They have an over inflated sense of self importance.
Thousands upon Tens of Thousands of people are photographers. It just, simply, is not that unique.
This guy has a very blue-collar, no nonsense approach to discussing the topic.
Seems like he has his feet firmly attached to planet Earth.
Was a pleasure absorbing some of his Thoughts-Tips-Observations-Suggestions.
Well Done
Outstanding thanks for the tips
Adam is the best teacher. Molte grazie!
A much enjoyed talk, thank you
