Your philosophy and ideas on life and photography really speak to me. Its like you put into words what is in my subconscious and i can not get them out to my conscious. Thanks!
Im shooting for 10 years now, and last year im on doubt. Salgado and McCurry are great, but they made it in diferent time when shoots of people from certain locations was somenthing insufficient. People was hungry for their work, because they was interested in the content, but today almost all content was already captured. people are glut by pictures.
Just came back to this one because I fell in a hole emotionally and it helps. The salgado images alway get me. My favorite photographer
Another homerun! I quit my job in August 2017, and I have no option but to make photography work. I love it! Your videos are so inspiring and helpful to me. Thank you!
Very interesting Sean, have been a photographer for some years and love it just as much as the first time, but at last street photography is really me.
I will be keeping an eye and ears to you, nice one mate.
Good advice! it touched me.
Hello Sean,
Like so many others, I just discovered your channel and am blown away by not only your well thought out content, but also your delivery style. It’s as authentic and warm as it gets and I truly feel like you are a friend just by the way you talk to what seems like me and only me. Anyhow, enough of all that. This video in particular really made me pause to think about what I am doing. You described me and apparently hundreds if not thousands of others to a “T”! I have just recently bought a bunch of expensive gear and subscribed to a bunch of YT channels and blogs/Vlogs etc…. I have changed thought processes many times already as the wind blows. It’s amazing how caught up one can get in this hobby/profession without a true plan that is targeted to ones true passion. I have changed my thoughts from nature to landscapes, products, portraits and head shots and food photography many times. Thanks to your video today, I have made a commitment to following my gut and putting my entire focus on what I love the most and that is food photography. It’s not as sexy as some other areas but being a restaurant owner and operator and ex restaurant marketing executive that has been on countless food shoots from LA to New York, I feel that is where I truly need to be. Sure I can have fun shooting the other stuff….for fun. But the passion is going to be making amazing food come to life! It was an epiphany moment watching this video and for that sir, I thank you.
I feel like I found your channel by accident and yet it was providential. You are a good person and a great artist with an amazing heart. I need friends and colleagues just like you. Thank you for your insight and wisdom.
thank you
👍
Wow I love this video it really makes you look at the man in the mirror
The video you made give me great help, thank you so much!!!
amazing .Your background as a preacher makes your videos stand out and creates something special. At least to me. Thank You!
Hi Sean, its been two years since this post. Do you shot what you love ?
Inspirational!
Sean I hope you don't change photo/ video direction for a long time, because what you put out on your channel is nothing short than amazing. You elevate photography with a meaningful purpose that gives photography a meaning of life. I know you put a lot of hard work and thought into your work. You are not just another you tuber employing ckickbait material just to increase the view numbers. As a former South African myself, I appreciate the knowledge and wisdom you share, thank you for what you do. Regards
My hero? You are…
You are an inspiration for me
I love your videos… I feel like you are talking directly to me… and I really appreciate how you talk about the "craft" in most of your videos, not just gear. Thank You!
I absolutely love your integrity! Please consider putting a Paypal link on your videos. It's pretty painless to drop 5 bucks in the bucket! And a bargain for your wise thoughts!
You are one of those heroes. Since Im following you and discovering new videos of you I feel more passion for what I do and what I want to do. I find a lot of motivation, tips and good things in this stuff, and I love it 🙂
I love your videos so much <3
Wish your so much happiness man. Your videos are so moving.
Great to be introduced to you this morning at York Art Gallery. Just watched the above. Very inspiring, thank you! I'm early in my journey on a different creative discipline but the same principles. I created my mood boards 3 years ago and it's working and a lot faster than I ever dreamed possible.
I'm a big fan of Steve McCurry too, one of the first photography books I bought back when I used to traveled to South East Asia lots.
Thank you
Loved and needed to hear this!
Sean, you present very well, your content is very original and you speak so passionately and that's visible in your work. Love to watch your videos. Thanks for putting out stuff so different.
I love your perspective, as well as your favorite photographers! Personally, I love styles from Tim Hetherington, Chris Hondros, and James Nachtwey.
Thanks bro. Good vid and rocking channel 🙂
I really needed this video right now. Thankyou Sean
Love the content you make man. Some of the best advice I've heard.
Love your videos Sean. Just because I know how hard it is to be true to yourself, when it's easy to become distracted to find a nieche where the money is (commercial photography, weddings etc) even when you know that''s probably where your heart isn't. I also agree when you said to do what you feel that time flows by. It's not easy to make it as photographer, and nobody should be trciked into that it is. It's hard work, and your passion to capture those fleeting moments, and your own pride of your work should be that carry you through the difficult times. Because in the end, it comes to the fact that you know your values, you know your passion, and you learn to appreciate your own work and give value to it.
Best advice!!!
You spoke out everything that was in my heart longing out for, thank you for sharing your a great motivation! God bless you brother Sean
Thank you for all your videos and your motivation. It really helps! Thanks!
45 seconds in this video and it already defined me LOL
Thank you. The was the guidance I was looking for. Doesn't make the goal easier to achieve, but gives it more meaning and makes me understand more about how it is working.
Whenever I need a boost, I watch (or re-watch) one of Sean Tucker's videos. Cheers.
