Huge waves make for great photos. I went to the Washington and Oregon Coasts trying to capture a few images, and got lucky enough to catch great light as well!

Whilst relatively new to the you tube work of photography in terms of 6-12 months, I’ve seen many epic shots of all sorts of composures. This is one of THE MOST epic and dramatic, emotive shots. I’ve ever seen. Can’t stop looking at it. Beyond stunning and motivates me to become better everyone I go out. Thanks Nick.

Beautiful! This is exactly the art that sends chills down my back. I have already watched this a few times. The huge waves surges in contrast to the birds is surreal. Thank you for the tips… very much appreciated as a newer ocean and nature photographer.

Amazing shots btw. Especially the waves with the birds. Always thought birds could be distraction due to the shutter speed for waves but learned something new here. Thanks for sharing

What did u have on top of the camera? Couldn’t make out what attachment that was and for. Thanks in advance. Just curious

This was pretty cool. I live in Southern California and love to go photograph high-surf, but it's difficult to find locations like in Oregon and Washington. I'd love to do some roadtrips up there but it's hard to predict enough in advance if the ocean will be crazy. Do you have a way of guestimating when is a good time to go? I use the Surfline app, which makes it easy for a day or two in advance, but I'm thinking a roadtrip would require more planning.

I have just found this vlog and it is awesome, the images that you have shown are wonderful I would have been more than happy to have taken any one of them.

There is a serious message in the comments below, one that clearly states that a photograph is not worth someone's life and looking at those seas I can understand the concern.

Thanks for posting the video, really enjoyed the content.

Another safety tip – Whenever you're walking on seaside rocks looking for comps pay attention the to color of the rocks. If they are green or black they're going to be slippery so just be extra careful.

Great work Nick! I live in Portland and get a lot of great location ideas watching your videos ;). I Visited the cape for the first time about a month ago without realizing it was a sunrise location. Excited to get back for a proper sunrise after watching this!
