This is so true! I was asked to video a family member's wedding and I had never done it before. I had his video camera and tripod, but no experience. Never again! Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Accidentally kicking the tripod at a crucial moment. Not getting a battery pack properly in place as they came down the church steps. Aaaargh! You really need lots of video-making experience behind you. You need to understand what is expected from a wedding video – this is REALLY important. You are not making the video for yourself – you are making it for a couple celebrating a very special day, with NO RETAKES! If you are not confident – don't do it!
That was very helpful! Thanks! how much did you charge for that wedding?
Looks like Josh from Nick. Nice video
I prefer PhotoMechanic
Photoshop Raw can select the full gallery and adjust the same instantly, just go through each one to make sure they are still good, Weddings are important you HAVE to go through the images one by one to make sure they are good quality. You don't want to put your name behind an over exposed, blurry image.
nice video, you mention about the portrait lens for videos but whats the name of the lens that you use for videos. thank you.
You really shouldn't shoot a wedding if you've never done it before. He talked about second shooting, and learning your craft before you accept money and shoot a wedding on your own. It's actually very good advice. Shooting a wedding is a huge responsibility and should be treated as such. You wouldn't go to a dentist who did not have the proper training, would you? Just owning and using a DSLR does not qualify one to shoot a wedding, but the bride and groom don't always know until it's too late.
Both programs are great yes, but if you only plan on doing small editing, then Light room is more then enough. Photoshop only really comes into play if you plan on doing layer masks to your photos.
Yes. The 70-200 lens is a great all around lens. Especially for portraits and even group shots. You have the ability to zoom in and out, also with it being at 2.8, you are going to get a nice shallow DOF and also, with the aperture being able to go that fast, you will be able to shoot with a faster shutter speed in low light settings. You won't necessarily need to use a tripod because of the fear of camera shake.
P{erfect video thank you.
It's scary to think this might be the only photography instruction before someone does a wedding D:
