Teacher Sues School In $3M Lawsuit Over Topless Photo Firing | USA TODAY

A New York teacher is suing her school district for $3 million for firing after a student obtained an old topless photo of her without her consent.

Lauren Miranda’s firing amounted to sex discrimination, attorney John Ray said in a press release announcing a lawsuit against Suffolk County’s South Country School District.

“Lauren Miranda was an excellent math teacher by all accounts,” Ray said in a written statement. “Long ago, she sent her topless unremarkable selfie to her companion, never to anyone else. By unknown means, a student obtained it. The school district took possession of it, excoriated her, and fired her because her breasts were displayed. This would never have happened to a male teacher.”

    Hope she wins

So in a schools point of view the only good role model is being a robot

  3. Troglodyte says

Pff land of the free. sounds more like the land of the retards wow some boobs…….. let's make a huge deal out of some boobs. You would think that the average Americans are is sexually frustrated cunts.

  4. Magsnmaisey says

Well don’t take them especially as a teacher

  5. gjaddajg says

I was on her side…. until she played the 'female victim card'. She's obviously a clueless feminist brat with a victim complex.

  6. gjaddajg says

Would a man have been fired if his dick pics had been leaked? Most likely, yes. So it's not 'gender discrimination'.

  7. Jason R says

She shouldn't get any money… like really… and she shouldn't be allowed to teach ever again. Sure maybe she didn't send it to the kid directly but he obtained it because of her… it only existed in the world because of her… doesn't anyone see that? If a kid had a naked picture of any girl on his or her phone the kid would be sent to the office and maybe home if it became to much of a distraction or a issue like if it was a picture of a classmate, that classmate would be sent home as well and I'm sure they would inform both set of parents…? Right? So in this scenario a kid obtained a picture of a naked girl WHO happened to be a teacher at the school this kid attended. now I'm sure the kid showed it to his friends and probably bragged about the photo and that probably resulted in a trip to the office and the other party involved (the teacher) was probably called in quickly afterward. the parents of the CHILD I'm sure got a phone call and the teacher got a talking to she never expected… plain and simple the picture should maybe be at home on a computer not on her phone or her boyfriends phone… this girl should consider stripping for a living the kids she taught might just be her next most valuable customer. The kids don't pay attention in class but if you turn that bar graph into a stripper pole I'm sure all eyes will be on her. I bet money the selfie picture in question was taken at the school… let us also not leave out the boyfriend as someone who should be in trouble unless his phone wasn't the device it was found on.

  8. GOLDEN EYE TV [GETV] says

That doesn't sound to hard. Your "lover" showed it off to some guy or sent it to someone who sent it to somebody after maybe an arguments between them at some point.

  9. logic rules says

She allowed this pic to get out. Her fault, she signed a morals clause. Courts have ruled schools can control dress, hair etc because it can be a distraction. So I'm pretty sure a teacher who has nudies floating around is a distraction. Why should only the kids be held to the "no distractions"rule?

  10. Miriam Vivo says

Racial and sexual discrimination its a win win for her

  11. Miriam Vivo says

Any reputable attorney will eat this up

  12. J S says

    She is yummy af

  13. Steven Chen says

idk if it justifies her firing but definitely a dumb decision to share a nude picture. no one can ruins you unless you give someone the chance to.

  14. David Sanchez says

Oh, " a new York teacher!" Case closed!

  15. Chris Grizario Exposed says

It’s her fault for being a whore lol

  16. Chancellor Luciano says

Is it a requirement to be a whore in order to become a teacher in America?? I’d put that pedophile slut in prison for 3 years just for having the audacity to try and sue for 3 million.

  17. John Smith says

    Slut.

  18. Valerie Hoyle says

Blame the school for your bad decisions. Let not forget if this was a man he would of been fired on the spot and more.

  19. Sw33tness says

I hate these videos that are actually a written article. How about this…. let me save my data for ACTUAL VIDEOS!?!
I am certain I can find this article elsewhere to read. I wanted to LISTEN to a news story while driving. Not this sh*tty music

  20. Bella Rose says

A teacher with no values, it is not a good teacher. I don't want her to teach my children. I will look for other school. We are living in a community, this is our society with values, we are not in the jungle where there is no rules. Here you must respect our rules, laws and specially when you are teaching children. What kind of moral you will let them to follow if you don't have any?. Besides, what man will select you to be the mother of his children? None..good man!!! .only crazy man….you are a stormy teacher.

  21. Diedert Spijkerboer says

Here in the EU, we have a law against so-called revenge porn, which makes it illegal to put private vids of your ex online. This case gets very close to such a crime with the victim getting punished by the school.

  22. Diedert Spijkerboer says

It seems to me that the school says that if you send an erotic pic to a lover, you are not a good role model.

  23. Diedert Spijkerboer says

Why don't they charge the person who distributed the pic, which was obviously meant to be private????

  24. Dan Morris says

As long as its not genitalia, WTF, especially in light of the fact she wasn’t soliciting or publicizing. WE NEED GOOD MATH TEACHERS!

  25. Lisa R says

Has anybody asked the kid how he got the picture? Why is that still a mystery?

  26. Rooster Blues says

I bet a woman can breast feed wide open in that liberal school.

  27. Mad Machanicest says

    Good i hope she wins.

  28. Texas Jack says

Link to pic, plz. I must judge this case.

  29. Questchaun says

    Her lawer in a searsucker?!

That district gonna be using the same textbooks for the next 20 years

  30. Homeless Pirate says

    Picture please!

  31. Jerome Lund says

So according to the school district's logic, Melania Trump is not a good role model either.

  32. dfguko says

If it was a topless photo from a Male teacher nobody would care about so this is clearly a discrimination.

  33. johnbspringer says

Well there is always stripping. It probably pays more than teaching.

  34. Napkin Bandit says

Who fuckin cares.. Let's talk about the bowtie at the end.. Holy geezus

  35. Q & A says

Just google her. The pics there but with a couple of parts blurred out. 😜😵

  36. Ainz Ooal Pwn 229 says

Did it get leaked? If so cmon that's cyber crime. Cut her a break. I mean if she specifically sent it to a student that's one thing, but an ex puts her online that's not right

  37. Micho Rizo says

I wish i could be a careless whore and sue people.

  38. C says

Sexual discrimination…Really?!? I can't stand scumbag lawyers. She made a choice in her past and now has to face the consequences of that choice. Just because she couldn't "see" the long term effects doesn't mean she should not be held accountable for her FREE choice. Just like so many others (men more specifically) whose past has recently bit them in the ass aren't running around suing others who held them accountable.
And lets not just ignore the fact she, in essence, has provided pornographic material to a minor, doesn't matter how he got ahold of it, he did and that's the point.
And it is well known that female teachers are the bigger predator to children when it comes to sex crimes against their students. She's lucky this only ended in her being fired and not having an investigation opened to see if there were any other inappropriate interactions with said kid.

  39. Micho Rizo says

Maybe dont take nude photos on any device with internet connection

  40. Does anyone have a link to the picture shes pretty hot

  41. Steven says

Anybody have the link? Photo…research purpose

  42. Stoney Hiker says

    Women are workplace liabilities.

  43. Bella Rose says

She sent the picture to a man that is not her husband!. What kind of woman she is? Husband or boyfriend or friend it doesn't matter. She doesn't have values. Too easy.

  44. PABLOBARBICI says

Let me see the pic. Let me be the judge to decide if its inappropriate

  45. Bella Rose says

A decent woman never send pictures like that. She should respect herself and teach good values to her students.

  46. KITT FOXXE says

The ones who fired her are homosexuals those are the only ones who are offended

  47. Henry Townshed says

Don't take selfies. There you go problem solved

  48. ifyouknew thenyouknew says

Who needs wifi to send a photo? Seriously my phone works everywhere I go. So all of you wondering how little Billy used the wifi to get it doesnt add up. What does add up folks is that Mrs. Chokes on dick decided to get frisky and give the kids a show!

  49. Common Sense says

So how many years actually on the job would she have to work before making the amount she's suing for? Get another job and move on. Self-created problem with a convenient and ridiculous solution. Given the facts I'd say she certainly is a bad role model.
