So is it basically just the starting point "settings" it applies on initial import to make things look more flattering and inspiring? Or more of a file processing thing that lightroom absolutely can NOT produce?

    Capture one 10 is excellent.

Thanks for the nice video! I end preferring C1 for everyday pics of life, friends & family. I don't usually photograph people for money. I notice, though, that Perfectly Clear now plugs into C1. Seems a bit redundant, but who knows, maybe it takes C1 to the next level.

For $ shots, I like DXO on the product pics I take. I can get really intense detail. Literoom I could care less about. I still wish someone took over the next gen thinking of Aperture.

Hey Craig will capture one 9 work with nik software as lightroom?

  7. Sudesh Singh says

Great video Craig. I saw this first hand in a workshop that Capture One's tether is amazingly fast. Lightroom on the other hand is worthless; it is painstakingly slow and dismounts repeatedly for no reason. I might use capture one just for that. My LR catalogue will too cumbersome to bring into Capture One.

I have a question re Lightroom 6. I tether my Canon 5D Mark III to my Apple 27in computer the camera may take one picture then buSY starts flashing. My Lightroom is 6.7 version. Do you have any idea what's going on???

Craig, I am interested in your tutorials, the price is very sweet, I am just wondering is it one time payment, or a subscription?

Capture pro 9 or DxO 11?

  12. Minority Nomad says

I certainly like the look but wonder about the file management. I was using Bridge then went to LR. I love the way I can easily organize and access my files. Even creating the smart previews etc. Is Capture One similar in the file management regard? Thanks

    Craig,

Would you still recommend Media Pro SE or is that old now? Most of the links I see from Phase One are dead.

    Thanks,

    Sean

Totally agree that Capture One looks much better with imported RAW files. I've recently gone over to Capture One and I'm not going back to Lightroom.

  15. Glenn Barge says

Does anyone know when Capture One Pro 9 will work with Nikon D500 raw files?

    Hi Craig,
Thanks so much for the videos! I am a new subscriber and longtime CNX2 user. How would you compare the NEF file RAW conversion images in Capture One Pro 9 vs. CNX2?
    Appreciate your expertise!
    best,

Will Capture 1 work with plug ins?

  18. karayuschij says

I prefer the render quality of C1, but the workflow is very slow (and the interface not so intuitive) and when you have a big amount of images to manage LR is very faster.
And let's compare LR and C1 library module…………

  19. Titus Livius says

I heard that with Capture One Pro 8 you couldn't hop back and forth between it and Photoshop like your can with Lightroom. Is that still true?

  20. Bazz Freeman says

And remember you can get C1 pro at a severe discount if you shoot Sony.

Good video. Thanks for posting it. I notice that there's a fairly bright blue earring in the LR version that's muted in the C1 conversion — yet the C1 conversion seems to have a bit more saturation overall. (Then, switching to the portrait rendering in LR makes that blue earring all but disappear — at least on my monitor.) Have you seen other examples of that kind of difference from the one to the other?
