PHOTOS OF BLACKHEATH JUNIOR AND INFANTS SCHOOL
THIS VID IS A SERIES OF PHOTOS OF BLACKHEATH JUNIOR SCHOOL, NEAR ROWLEY REGIS IN THE WEST MIDLANDS. THERE ARE ONLY A FEW PHOTOS AND SOME OF EM ARE SADLY FROM THE TIME OF ITS DEMOLITION. WHILE THE BUILDING SITE SECURITY WERE KLOOKING THE OTHER WAY,I MANAGED TO SORT OF BREAK IN ONE FRIDAY AFTERNOON WITH MY CAMERA TO TAKE SOME PHOTOS OF THE CLASSROOMS, BUT AS YOU CAN SEE, THE LOCAL THUGS GOT THERE FIRST. FOR ANYONE WHO WENT THERE YOU CAN MAKE OUT ENOUGH OF THE ROOMS AND MOBILES.
Hi Went there 1975-1981. I have fond memories of that school. It is such a shame for it to be knocked down. Progress and all that. It might have been old but it was still my school! lol
I remember the portable classrooms at the back and also after the summer break, when you walked into the main school the smell of the floor cleaners etc.
Oh, to be there again without all the pressures of today!
Dave Osborne.
Great photos Peter. I was there from 1976 and was also there fir its centenary in 1979. I was on the front page of the Express and Star with the then Headmaster (Mr. Payne) pulling me out of assembly by the ear (all for the photo of course 🙂 ) Have been trying to find that photo ever since with no luck yet
Great childhood memories of this school I left in 2002
Thank you for posting this, I never even knew it had been demolished till I passed it one day. I was there from around 1962 until I left for RRGS – very sad to see it, but amazing how much I could actually remember when I saw the photographs .. Thanks again 🙂
Still makes me sad to watch this.
