Nice video!Clearly explained the science behind DSLR LENS!
Why will i need a 18mm prime lens if i have 18-55mm or 18-135mm?
Thanks!
Great video. So random that all these photos are in my town, Lima NY. Love it.
Thank you guys. This was really clear and perfectly explained.
Although I knew just about everything in this video and it's a nice reminder of certain details, something's bugging me out : I shoot event with a 50mm on my Nikon DX format camera… and, it's definitely not an 80mm equivalent, because – as you pointed out – it is not. It's a cropped fov of a 50mm lens. That closes the gap just right between me and the performers when I just on the edge of the stage (I'm a concert photographer).
Just wanted to mention this, because it's a bit confusing, as you talk about the fact that the focal don't change, but then say that a 50mm lens is the same as an 80mm lens on APS-C… that's not true.
I never though about it, but just got why I love my 50mm lens on APS-C so much… the fov never changed… LOL
I never got this until I understood that this is basically the same thing as FOV in first person shooters. 😀
thanks, i have Canon EOS 1300D with kit lens and this video is very helpful for upgrading my lens. i have some idea about full frame and aps-c perspective ( lens) now it is crystal clear.
my Think Tank StreetWalker HardDrive Backpack is covered by heavy moldy outside and with some spots inside ..how can I clean inside and outside? bleach 100% ? I live in Scotland
Thanks
Best Regards,
Hello!
Am a beginner in photography …
I bought Nikon 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6D, and I fail to set it on auto focus mode, I like to take pictures and also my self, and i cant do all of that while am using manual mode! Can you help me? I have d5100
Very very well explained from a beginner with very limited photography knowledge! Thanks!
This was very helpful. Thank you so much for uploading.
Fantastic. Just one word.
Thanks
You've taught me more in 10 minutes than I did during a year at school… Thanks so much!
I really needed this lesson, crystal clear explanation. Thank you very much!
So you mean the full frame is the best .
thank you so much for this explanation. this made it much easier to understand
What's the dirrence between AF-S and EF-S? I cant remember if you covered it in the video.
All light rays do not intersect inside the lense at the optical centre. Light rays are refracted throughout the cross section of the lens to intersect at the focal point, where then your camera sensor is!
This is what I was looking for. Someone that can explain and show examples. Bravo
What a great video. You explained everything so simply
Dude, I let the video play without looking at it, and I thought one of my Tim Ferriss podcasts started playing. Your inflections and the clarity at which you can explain the subject is just as precise as his….well, the way you can explain THIS subject….I don't think he's given any tutorials on photography… :D.
Great tutorial and thank you!
Subscribed for now! Liked the crop factor part quite a bit, very clear explanation!
Excellent presentation
